5.0 "Copperhead" ECM mods?
Nobody posting about mods for the 5.0 yet so I'll start with some tuning questions.
I'm a carb guy and only have a little ECM tuning experience with an OBD1 LT1 Chevy. I will be completely new to EFI Fords once I make the leap to the present and by a 2011 GT.
Is there existing tuner software that will work with the new Copperhead system? Are the Ford ECM's flash programable like the LT1's and are there people offering e-mail tunes for Fords?
I'm also cheap and am pondering saving on the $500 CDN Ford is asking for the 3.73 gear option. I'm thinking buy gears myself, possibly going with an even steeper ratio, and saving $200. That got me thinking about how to correct the speedo, thus the tuner questions...
Thanks!

I'd say yes the tunes will eventually be out there for the 5.0. Gear change isn't for the backyard mechanic. If you plan on doing that yourself, you'd better know what you're doing and know how to set up a rear otherwise you're asking for trouble. Doing a rear "cheap" will only end up costing you more in the long run.

Thanks for the reply.
No problem with the mechanicals, just the electronics I'm unfamiliar with. So by the sounds of it, this is an all new system and it will take awhile before the aftermarket tuners catch-up. I'll start with the factory 3.73's in that case.
