IMHO, ... I believe there is a fair amount of mis-information in this thread.
275 is within specs for a 9" wheel.
285 is not in specs for a 9" wheel. Will it fit on the rim - Yes,.... but your tire performance will be compromised when it comes to contact patch, even wear and safety. Tire rack knows what they are doing.
It is generally considered ideal to run a square set up to avoid understeer. I know the Boss has a staggered set up so yes it can still be done.
