2014 GT Ford Racing Tune

Hey fellas..I'm getting the Ford Racing Performance package for my '14 GT. It consists of a Procal calibration and a K&N high flow air filter. Supposed to up to 426 hp and 450 lbs torque. Has anyone done this one? Thoughts?

What this did is shove my full bloat load '12 GT into the 11s, without any weight reduction and make it a very entertaining street vehicle, with way better throttle response and less rev hang. Unmatched warranty coverage and a low asking price (under 300 all day long online).

Is yours a manual or automatic? I'm hearing that the kit will not work on an automatic.

You're hearing it from me on another site and you're hearing it a bit wrong. It isn't optimized for the auto as it doesn't change the programming for the juice box but, the 60 lb/ft torque jump right off the bottom won't hurt no matter what trans you have. It basically moved a bunch of off the line grunt under the curve, which is just what the car needed.

I have a stick. BBP could not be had with auto in 2012....

...and by the way, if we throw my numbers into a calculator, that's 439 flywheel horsepower needed for what I did and, I wasn't setting a world record or anything. I just wanted to get that tune to do 11s on my full weight car. Everyone needs goals....:^)

A friend of mine has a grabber blue 2013 M6 car and he did the FRPP tuner and K&N drop in filter, he was very happy with the car until I put my SCT tuner with Steeda tune along with a Steeda CAI in my car and I could out run him every time. So take it for what it's worth and spend your money wisely. I know that everyone says that you don't need a new intake because the factory units are so well engineered, but just the sound and looks I got from mine was well worth the extra cost.

I will let the others weigh in on their gains ... but there are other benefits to the tune ... here is customer testimonial regarding the other benefits:

I can't tell you any definitive numbers as I have never dyno'd my car. By what I can attest to is my buddies car is basically the same set up and once he put the FRPP tuner on his car, I couldn't keep up, then I installed the Steeda tune and intake on mine, his car is always in my rear view mirror. Also my car is a m-6 car and so is his.

Do your research and you'll see that the FRPP programmer seems to get a bit less out of the car as the SCT boys.

I am just curious what other mods you have? I have a completely stock 14 Track Pack. Have never had mine at the strip. Motor Trend tested a Track Pack car and ran a 12.7 quarter mile. I am just wondering what other mods besides the tune got you into the 11's? Thanks!

UMI cheapo non-adjustable lower control arms, a Roush rubber upper control arm, Hoosier 28X10 drag slicks and, practice, that's it.

Honestly, I think I could have done it on the tire and the tune. The CAs added a little consistency but didn't shave time particularly.

The drag slicks are good for quite a bit of time (combined with practice)

What was your trap speed?

Bloody rights, that's why I bought them. Stick and radials not a good combo at the strip. Why burn up the BBP Pirellis in a pointless exercise searching for traction? Just get a tire for the application and be done.

115.23.

There may be a touch more in the car but I'm pretty close to maxing out the combination and that's what I was after.

I completely agree on gettnig the right equipment for the application. No such thing as a "do it all" component. Get the right parts and enjoy

I think it's doing ok for a fully loaded 2012 car with every option bar glass roof, running a 91 octane street tune. Dragster Maths tells me that's 439 horses at the flywheel required. Tough to spend money to switch to another tune with results like that.

Yes..mine is auto. Does this tune affect engine endurance at all? Does it put more strain on the engine..Ford Racing advised me that this engine will go to 300K no prob.

I have a Steeda tune and am very happy with it. The throttle response is far better than stock. The shift points are nice and firm. The car accelerates off the line hard and pulls great. I have a 91 Steeda tune and based upon my 2011 V6 automatic and mods I had dyno it at 289 rwhp.

My 91 hybrid Bama tune dyno same day at 293 rwhp.

My 91 MPT tune dyno same day at 297 rwhp.

The first picture is not mine. No idea wtf that is

Steeda is an excellent tuning company
