The sound change is significant IMHO. Here is my 5.0 with a comparison video....

great video ... thanks! I was worried you we're going to hit that white car when you pulled out the 1st time though! So did you get the FRPP _actual_ GT500's or like the American Muscle ones (which I think are "like" OEM)?

Yes the drive is a bit tight! Helps if the wife parks her Swift more neatly!

So who is running the GT500 axle backs with an X pipe? Curious as to how it sounds.
If I keep my Mustang I am toying with the idea of toning it down a little bit... it's quite loud with the FRPP Sports (though it sounds absolutely fantastic), borderline obnoxious. I need the car to be as "grown up" as I possible can as long as I keep driving it to work.

I just ordered a set for my car from Blue oval industries. They show them in stock so hopefully they will ship this week.
I've changed my whole exhaust and now have ARH longtubes with o/r X pipe and the stock catback and the sound is very nice.
It's actually as quiet as stock at idle but you can tell It's far from stock when I get on it.My car would have been way to loud with the Magnaflow comp series exhaust and LT headers.
I think it will be perfect with the GT500 mufflers.

here's mine. Sounds soooo much better than stock but still just a tad on the quiet side. I think no resonators would make it perfect.

hahaha yes, they will be installed by me don't worry...if i've ripped apart my whole interior to install a light bar...taking a couple bolts off for a axleback isn't going to be a big deal lol
I got mine locally from someone, they are brand new take offs of a gt500...and boy do they look great! loving how the 4inch opening looks!

went to the Ford dealer to order gt500 exhaust. He gave me a price of $365 for each exhaust..I told him i could get them for $300 for both. He also told me the mufflers now have different manufacturer part number? Does anyone know if they changed the muffler for the better? I know ill have to get the muffler elsewhere

Well I thought it was to good to be true I cancelled my order for the GT500 after Blue oval changed the status from instock to backordered.
They were easy to work with and gave me a full refund no problemo.I have now decided to go with the new Gibson axle back for 2011 5.0
they have a mellow sound that should not be to loud with my longtubes
