Would be interested to see if they drone? My dealer didnt sound so convinced that they wouldn't. If they don't and they sound that good it would be a no brainer at half the price of the borla's.

they sound great and have zero drone. I have had corsa dyno max and these mufflers on mt car so far and these sound the best by a HUGE margin.

I'll second the first part. I do like the Corsa sound a lot though.

Does anyone have a decent sound clip of them on a GT? I would love to buy those, but I guess they're back ordered until mid November if I'm not mistaken?

I'd also love to see a picture of them on a GT if someone might have them.

Appreciate it.

I gotta keep it entertaining Jason. Wouldn't be fun without random animated gifs running around here.

Not a lot. The sound is better, and inside the car you hardly notice a difference.
Got mine for 285 to the door from Late Model Restoration. Easy install, maybe an hour, laying on my back in the garage. Weigh the same as stock, fit the same, no alignment issues.

I had a heck of a time installing mine. Passenger side = 15 minutes, but on the driver's side the cross brace for the panhard rod mount gave me a LOT of grief, so I undid it. Then the pipe fell out of the front clamp, just behind the H-pipe (I'd loosened those to allow some slip back at the muffler connection) and it was near impossible to get the pipe back into that clamp. Took 2 hours to do the driver's side.

After all that, I was greatly anticipating a great new sound! Instead, I was disappointed. It's not much louder than stock at all. And instead of more of the stock sound (which has a lot of bass to it), it only boosted the upper bass/midrange frequencies. During idle and low-load cruise, I found almost no improvement over the stock muffers. At W.O.T, they're a bit louder, maybe 25% louder, which about right. But I spend a lot less time at W.O.T. than in other conditions. In short, I wanted more rumble, more muscle-car thunder, and these somewhat disappointed me on that account.

What now? My financial mod wad is shot now, so I'll live with it for awhile I guess. I'd just put my stock mufflers back on if it wasn't such a colossal pain to do so. I guess I'll enjoy these awhile...

WHERE'S THE RUMBLE?

EDIT: 3 months later, I love these mufflers! I had unrealistic expectations of a Gen-1 small-block chevy sound being possible. These things are loud when I want 'em loud and quiet when I want them quiet, with the accelerator pedal being the volume control. Highly recommend these, especially for the price of around $300.

Eric/anyone who is installing these yourself,

Use this link as an instruction set. Don't mind the X-pipe stuff, but it explains what to do when hanging them and what other objects you might encounter:

Thanks, wish I'd had that earlier today. I never did undo the passenger side of that panhard brace, so that probably added to my woes (that and trying to get by using just some shalow home-made ramps, in lieu of a jack or proper 4- or 2-post lift). I definitely noticed some burn-off odor, glad that seems to be normal.

While we're at it, gotta give big ups to Ford for those clamping sleeves (which are also self-aligning up by the H-pipe) at the exhaust joints. They are definitely nice.

Finally heard these SVT mufflers in person on a GT500 this weekend at Barrett Jackson on the "test course", they sound GREAT, and much louder than the stock exhaust.

So which is it? Louder or not?? I just can't get a sense from the clips and not everyone seems to agree that they're significantly louder.

I think the tone of these mufflers is just about perfect... I want a significant increase in volume though... will these do the trick?

My '09 GT had a SLP Loudmouth axle back that I loved but it was a bit too loud when I fired it up at 5:30AM in a quiet neighborhood.

Anyway, I called my local speed shop get a price on these and they couldn't figure out which axle back was the OEM for the 2011 GT500s... Would anyone mind sharing a part number?

Thanks for any opinions or information.

If you are looking for teeth rattling loud, the GT500's are not the ones. I have had deletes and they were loud. I really like these GT500's on my '11 GT/CS as the sound is nice, just a nice rumble.
