Talking Shaking things up with a CDC shaker!

I ordered the CDC shaker from AM along with the Matte Black Boss hood cowl decal and deck lid black out. I am really nervous about cutting my hood but I think the mod will look sick on my 2010 GT vert. Pictures and walkthrough of the install are coming.

Wish me luck!

May I ask why you bought it? And not just cause "I like the shaker"

I only ask because to me it seems if you wanted a shaker you could sell the 2010 and buy a mach 1 cheaper with around the same hp.

IMO it doesn't look right on the car... The shaker looks strange on a bigger mustang like that. But all that matters is you like it.

I bet you were shaking though cutting into your hood! Props to you for a clean install.

How are your impressions of it now that its installed?

And I only ask why since it doesn't do to much rather than appearance, when you could have put performance into it...

Congrats. The job looks good. I like the look of the shaker. Being thinking about doing this to my grabber blue 2010 for a couple years. I just don't want to cut the hood. A few years ago a couple of folks trim the plastic engine cover down to the water drain area around the shaker. I thought that looked good when the hood was up - you could see some of the engine.

I always had a dream of owning a Mustang convertible with a shaker. When I bought my car I could not pass up a 2010 Vert for the price. I much rather would have gotten the 5.0 but it was out of my price range. This was a low miles car with not a scratch on it. I also had a hard time finding convertible in manual.

This was an all day install and I was really, really nervous when the hood was cut. I did it right though! It is dead center on the hood. I know it does not do much when it comes to performance but man when you see that sucker shaken on the hood while driving it makes the car feel more powerful. The upgrade was well worth the time and money. It is going to be cool to go to a Mustang meet and open the hood to show off this thing!

My next mods is going be cams and exhaust.

I got a Saleen fiberglass hood with the shaker hole last weekend. Next weekend I am planning on going to the Ford show at Carlisle and get the shaker. In a few weeks I should have the hood repaint, it is torch red and needs to be painted grabber blue. The only issue is the hood has holes in it for hood pins. I am trying to decide to get nicer hood pins or non functional hood pins or get the paint shop to fill in the holes. Anyway in a month or so I should have my shaker. BTW my son also got a new Saleen hood w/o the hole, but will cut one later for his shaker. His is also planning on getting a shaker at Carlisle. We probably buy the 05-09 shakers since they are much cheaper. The only difference I can tell between them is the front of the shroud which we are going to cut off.

On Saturday at Carlisle purchased two 2010 Shaker kits from CDC. One arrived today and hopefully the second tomorrow. My sons is checking on some body shops to get pricing to paint the new Saleen prototype hoods. I have a feeling this process will take a while, but we want it done right. A couple of folks have told us paint the hood for use on my Grabber Blue GT will take a while as GB is very hard to match.
