2010 MUSTANG GT 400 HP SUPERCHARGER (M-6066-MGT400PC)

Hi there. I have a 2010 Mustang GT with the 3.73 Rear + Track Pack. On a whim, I test drove the 2011 Mustang GT with the 5.0, 412hp engine. It definitely had more *****, but there was something about the clutch, steering, and gear ratio that left something to be desired. I like the feel of my 2010 GT much better, but the 2011 GT test drive got me thinking about the need for speed a bit more.

My question is, if I have the 400 HP super charger advertised on fordracingparts.com site installed, what else would I need to do to the car to make sure that handling, torque, etc, are all kept under control?

Thanks!

Before I sold it my 08 CS had a Saleen Series VI twin screw, so that is what I can speak from.

For a 400HP kit the track pack is adequate to handle the additional power in terms of suspension. Parts are I believe front and rear sway bars and lower controls arms from the 07-09 GT500. Your sticky track pack tires will help a great deal as well, as the stock 235 Neros aren't great at putting boosted power to the ground. Of course depending on what your goals are for the car you may want to look into upgrading the springs and dampers. I would recommend going to stranoparts.com, Sam Strano is on these boards too in the 05-09 section. Hope this helps.

Well for my '10 I added steeda sport springs, j&m upper and lower control arms and a J&M panhard bar. I just added the 2.6L KB intercooled supercharger and my car is making 482rwhp (567 at the engine) and the car does fine. I too also have the 3.73 gears. If I were you I would go with the Kenne Bell over the ford racing kit. If you need more info, check out my thread "Say hello to my little friend" under the 2010 modification section. Pictures are dyno sheets are shown.

DON'T DO THE 400 HP KIT!!!

It is non-intercooled and you won't be happy with the output or upgrade options.

I would do a Roushcharger or even better a Saleen supercharger before even thinking about the 400 HP Ford Racing whipple kit.

I'm not sure why others are trying to dissuade you from the non-intercooled Ford Racing / Whipple kit, but from my experience, it is a complete kit capable of insane power if that's part of your future considerations. Running on the super-conservative FRPP tune, I've seen several cars make about 400 rear-wheel horsepower and similar amounts of torque. Add an intercooler, injectors, GT500 fuel pumps, and you're making almost 500 horsepower to the wheels with insane low-end torque.

By comparison, Eaton's M90 roots blower is undersized and produces a lot of heat when spun to the RPM levels needed to make "serious" power.
