I agree. That is a great combo as well. Attached is Sterling Grey with Race Red that looks good. Something to consider.

for 1 day, i lusted over the idea of orange rims and orange stripes. the best pic i could find to represent was in this thread: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread...53081&page=288 the red/grey porsche is cool too.
how about orange stripes with black edges? or black stripes with orange edges/black wheels. boy now i'm really starting to think!
since i have black rims already (the day after the orange though) maybe i could do an orange pin stripe on the rims and black/orange stripes. hmmm

now i'm getting excited. so i have the black ford racing 18" rims. there's not really a lip to put the orange pin stripe on, looks like the only good place would be right on the edge because spokes mold right into the outer part. think that would look dorky to add a pin stripe there?

I would not pinstripe the wheels.
Maybe and this is a stretch consider matching the orange stripe color with your side view mirrors like the Boss LS.
I have seen this done on a white/red stripe shelby and it looked pretty cool.
Ideally have someone who is a photoshop pro mock it up first.

i'd just need a 3d studio max model of the 2013 mustang and i could really do it up! problem is, not so good at modeling cars. i did an awesome countach once, but that was in a class. would be a good time to review my notes and get started

it looks like the 1969 boss 302 had the "c" stripe on the doors and the black hood. the 1970 boss 302 had the center stripe on the hood which then turned left/right down the sides to the doors and back along the bottom of the doors.
so, the 2013 being the 2nd model year, i should probably get the current boss stripe stle to remain historically accurate. ugh. but i didn't really want to have "boss" on the stripes as i don't want to pretend.
now the only other question is, i like the black and matte black, but what about 3m's "charcoal metallic" and "medium charcoal metallic" - how do those two colors compare to SGM.
it just doesn't end! but it's a good problem to have
