Grrrrrrrrr...I was getting a visor strip. I'm pretty sure for 80.00 he was getting the whole windshield covered.

I'm all blacked out on mine. 5% limo tint front and back nothing on the front window and I think it sets my car off
Plus when I put my sunshade in the windshield it's like my own little privacy booth
Got it done for 150 with a lifetime warranty back eastern ky.

I've had 5 on all my vehicles for the last ten years. I've never been hassled by the man about it.

I know this is kinda a dead thread. But curious to see some more Kona's tinted. Please post up some pics with percentages. I have an appointment finally for next week and I'm still up in the air about what % to get. I'm leaning towards 20% at the moment.

I've got Wincos tint. Much more expensive than most everything listed in this thread, but with the Texas summers it's IR rejection is hard to beat. I've got 25% on the sides (Most allowed by law) and 60% on the rear window. Nothing on the front, as it's not legal to tint the front windshield in Texas.

Cool thanks I'll check them out on the computer later. Any regrets or would you do 30% again?

I bought the top of the line stuff, so this 30% keeps it very nice inside. I like the look of one shade all around and 30% still gives you good visibility. I definitely would do 30% again.

Hey hytek go to Cesar in logan square he does awesome work and is really cheap. Google his name and you'll find tons of forums giving him awesome reviews. He does all 5 windows for 130. He doesn't carry 25% tint tho. I got 20% the first time and it was to dark for me and I went back the next day and he re did my windows in 30 for free! Check out my picture thread 30% IMO is perfect cops won't give you any trouble and it looks really good.

Why would you spend 30k+ on a mustang and than look for cheap tint? I don't get that.

You wouldn't be able to tell the difference so why spend 400+ on tint? Not worth it. But I only got my two front windows done my other womdows were already tinted when I got the car

Plus I'm still going to school and working full time so I'm on a budget

^ looks good IMO

Trust me you can tell the difference. Tint is a lot more than looks.

Good that's what I needed to here. I have 20% on my Jeep and it's too dark at times.

Jeff from Tint To U is doing mine. Last time he quoted me it wasn't too bad plus I'm going by him so I'll get a discount.

Good call on Jeff I heard he does great work as well. Post pictures up when you get the tints installed.

There is a HUGE difference between a high quality tint like Wincos or Huper and your cheap window tint.

The first difference is in color retention. Cheap tints use liquids applied to the film to create the tint. Over time they will fade and discolor. They also have a tendency to bubble and peel after a few years.

The other problem with cheap tint is that they are just a tint, they don't really do anything to prevent IR and UV rays from entering the car.

Wincos and Huper tints are ceramic and metallic tints, which do not fade. They also resist peeling and bubbling a lot more than normal tints.

But the biggest difference comes in the IR/UV screening. The high dollar tints block IR/UV almost completely.

Trust me, you come down here to Texas in the middle of August with 110F sun beating down, and you can tell a HUGE difference between my wife's Camry with normal tint and my car with the Wincos. The Camry will run the MAX AC at full blast and the interior will still hover around 80F, while I'm running the AC without recycling the air and the fan at only 25% and my car stays closer to 70F. It also protects the interior from being sunbleached and fading (fabric) or becoming brittle and cracking (leather).

To each there own then I guess I'd rather spend my 400 dollars on something else. my tints are fine for what i paid looks really good as good as any tint job in my opinion plus I don't leave my car baking in the sun so I think I'll be fine
