Window Tint Percent on Kona
Window Tint Percent on Kona
Hey guys, I live in Florida and the car is on fire after work (I know it'll still be on fire after work tinted but there wont be as much sun beating on the interior all day and it looks better tinted IMO
). Looking to see how dark to go with the tint. Pics/opinions please!
I don't have pics because it's raining here today but legal is 28% front and 15% on the rest. I went legal. My friends do 20% all around to make it match but I didn't want the possible hassle. I will post pics either later today or tomorrow when the dumb rain goes away.
Didn't want to keep posting pics of my Lava Red car in the Kona section so here is my car with the 28/15 tint:

I have always had 15% done all the way around with a windshield strip, about 6 inches lower than the asi mark, on all my cars and never had an issue. The main thing is to go with a Titanium tint. By Titanium, I'm not referring to color but the Film Material. My Mom has 20% Titanium all the way around on her 2005 Windveil Blue GT and you can hold your hand right up to the glass inside and not feel any heat transference, but 20% just isn't as dark as I like.
Your Kona's look great tinted!
I'm in Illinois and they just recently passed a law that you can do everything but the windshield 35% at the darkest. I haven't got mine done yet, that's next on my list.

I think you can get away with 25%, but you'll have to pay your own ticket if I'm wrong. What's the bill for a ticket for too dark a tint?
