see my reply above. You need to focus on surface preparation first before worrying about LSP's or any other high priced/special wax. But yes, LSP's only account for 5% of the overall LOOK. If I prep a car properly, I can use a 5 dollar turtle wax to make it look dripping wet. But to answer your question, to a trained eye, diff't waxes do look diff't. Just depends on which look you prefer. But that's for another topic. If I were you, I'd focus on surface prep.

Just find a product that you like and keep it up. Be really careful when washing. Two bucket, grit guard, power blower for drying. Whatever you can do to not rub any grit into the finish while washing and drying.
Agree on this. Black is the ultimate love it/hate it color. Looks great when detailed (for 2 minutes, then after that, all dirty again...lol), but looks really bad when dirty.

LOL... thanks JC. Nah, I love ALL cars, and I love helping other folks take care of their cars. I do that will all my buddies. We have detailing "Sessions", and I am slowly trying to help/show them how to properly care for a vehicle's paint. After all, I was all of us car guys to have uber great looking vehicles.

p.s. you can park next to me ANY time

I did already clay the car shortly after taking it out of storage...it feels like glass!! I was just wondering that since the car is so new...will I really see a difference in the shine with any wax/sealant/glaze....

never mind I see you did answer this....

Yeah you will...

since you clayed already, then all you need now is to correct any dealer instilled swirls/scratches from the paint. You can see the true condition of your paint under the bright sun, or some halogens/flourescents in your garage/shop. As the saying goes, Lights don't lie.

OK a few questions as I may get the PC 7424 but need to learn how to use it...I guess since my other car is also black I can learn on it....just always been afraid of harming the paint more than helping it. I saw it for sale on one site for $119 yesterday.

1. For the Mustang since the paint only has very minor imperfections, etc, what pads would you recommend I buy? When polishing the surface, do you use the same pad for the whole car or do you need to change it every so often. Same question for when applying the final products as well. I was also wondering...since polishing the car is basically evening out the clear coat, how often can you do this as i would think you would eventually remove the clearcoat? Do you need to take more care around creases, edges, etc on the car when using a machine?

2. Everyone has what they feel is the best polish/sealant/glaze/wax/etc, but what is the best for a black car that is easiest to apply and remove. Are the ones only available online really a lot better than the OTC brands? I really hate having to pay shipping on top of the premium cost. I just don't want to spend a ton experimenting as funds are tight ( which is why I got the v6 with the perf pkg instead of the 5.0....if only it had been an additional $2,500 to $3,000 like most other cars but it was over $7,000 more)

3. Are there downsides to using the machine...can you actually add swirls and scratches in using it just like you can when waxing by hand? I know,so many questions but I want to keep the paint like new but also fear wrecking it!

Wow JC... That's a lot of questions man lol. My suggestion is that you re-read my car detailing 101 thread, and also pay a visit to autogeekonline and autopia forums to read up. That's the best advice I can give. AG will have instructions and howtos also for the pc. You look at Mike Philipps threads for further instruction. I learned a lot by reading. Autogeek (AG) also has PC kits. I recommend starting with that as it will have the basic components needed to start buffing.

And the only downside to the pc is that it needs more power and less vibration. But for a beginner like you, it should be perfect.
