Sorry to see the damage Nikki! I'm not sure why they are telling you it will be so expensive, you should just need that trim piece? Not sure if this is the right piece as there is no parts illustration:

Finish panel, W/auto trans? Slate gray
PANEL - CONSOLE - Base & trim
List Price : $225.83
Your Price : $180.66

EDIT: I just realized that you may have some damage to surrounding areas. Wasn't sure if it was just dirt on the shifter surround or not. I'm from NJ so if you need any help with installing parts, let me know!
Ford said the part is 250$ but it will be at least 250$ to install because they have to take the whole center apart to replace it. They quoted 500-1000$ so I can start my argument with Yankee. That should be lots of fun.

That's what I said it's not like I put a product in my car that didn't belong in a car. The package has no warning about ruining surfaces or anything just a warning to not eat. I'm surprise with all the complaints on damage to other cars that they continue making this product

Apart from the occasional spritz of Febreze when I detail my cars, I don't get the whole "air freshener" thing. I can understand if you work in a stable or a pig farm but what the heck makes your cars smell that bad that fake pina colada smells better?

If I want fresher air I just roll the window down.

Well, some people like to have "extra fun" in their car so...
I do like my car to smell like strawberries and not my wet duck northface coat.

That sounds like a hygiene problem not an automobile problem.

Thats really too bad. Hopefully someone will help you with the install so you can save some money. That center console piece is very easy to change. R+R the switches and pop it back in place. Its that easy. In my line of work I see these types of air freshners do more harm than good. I recommend a little tree air freshner or a wafer type of freshner you can throw under the seats of the Mustangs. It gets the job done, is out of the sun, and if you buy a cheap one thats stains or something happens, no one sees the damage under the seats. Good luck with the replacement.

It's not to cover a smell it's to just have just have the car smell like the scent you choose. If you burn candles in your house does it mean the house smells? No I don't work on a farm but I am a personal trainer so maybe it's to mask the smell of the gym Jk

I'm with ya on that. I drive a 20 year old F150 that I use for work, in Florida summers. It doesn't smell like crap, and I'm in it after work, during work, and after football when I played. How does it get that bad?!?!

That being said, I feel your pain Nikki, hope you can get it fixed

Sidenote - Don't leave rubber fish bait on your interior plastics, eats through the dye on the plastic...

I didn't think warning people about possible damage to their cars would open me up to be criticized so with that said I put this app on my phone to talk to some cool people that had similar interest a's me but the negative comment from some make it not worth it. There are many nice members though so to you all thanks! Be safe and good luck with your cars! ; )

There are no negative comments directed "towards you". I'm sorry if you took anything from me as such. This kind of banter is common on almost any board, especially car boards.

There's some hot heads in the 2010+ area. You just gotta learn to ignore them.

Welcome to TMS. Hope you can get your car fixed soon.

Nikki, Sorry you feel this way. I'm not sure why some members are like this, it really is very uncalled for. I hope you can look past these few members and hangout with the rest of the "cool" TMS crew like myself and Nathan.
