A matter of when . . . not if
With all the recent policing of NASCAR on the Cup teams this season I think we are moving closer and closer to have NASCAR having full on spec cars. It's taking ~3hrs for cars to go through inspection. Imagine the costs involved with that from a personnel standpoint.
I think in the future manufacturers will pay NASCAR for the right to have their "stickers" on the NASCAR bodies.
Thoughts?

Something I didn't know until this past weekend. NASCAR owns the templates/bodies for the Car of Tomorrow. They are not owned my each respective manufacturer. So in essence the manufacturers pay NASCAR to put their stickers on the car and have very minimal (if any)input into tweaking the bodies.
I saw a picture of the new template measuring tools and it's freakin' insane!!

After watching part of the Bristol race this past weekend I would like to re-state my opinion that the Car Of Tomorrow is quite possibly the ugliest race car I have ever seen. Safety notwithstanding, because I agree that NASCAR needed to improve safety for drivers.

I dunno about the COT. Why even bother with the stickers anymore. Just seems even more silly than it was before. I guess you need the big 3 and Toyota involvement to pay the $s.
Honestly, I haven't watched much NASCAR this year. Can't put my finger on it but I'm just not as into it as years before. Maybe it's because I don't really have a favorite driver anymore. Jarrett going to Toyota kind of was a nail in the coffin.

The one thing that definitely has me worried is Ford only fields 9 cars now out of the what, 48 trying to get spots in 43 car fields? I also expected Yates to get off to a much better start considering the way they performed at Daytona. Since then RYR has been a let down. I route as hard as I can every week for the Roush cars, but it's getting tougher with 25 Chevys all over the place.

If you ask me, something is fishy with the Hendrick engines. They always seem to have about 40-60 more hp than everyone else. It's rare that they are behind and very common to have either Gordon or Johnson winning or leading. Knaus has been caught cheating several times. I still think they should dyno Johnsons engines to see what's going on there. You can't be that darn fast every week.

The problem is NASCAR is allowing Chevy more on thier engines. Ford (Roush) complains they are at disadvantage, but NASCAR says well there are 2 FORDS currently in the top 10. Its Roush's better drivers that are the problem lol. They are too good. They do more with less. Case in point, Mark Martin, who has tore it up in his Chevy this year, after being only mediocre in the Roush Fords last couple of years, and has stated he had'nt had a Ford at roush as good as his Ginn Racing Chevy this year. Interesting as Ginn is far from a MAJOR team, but is Chevy.
49 Cars are full time participants. 21 are Chevy, 12 are Dodge, 9 are Fords, and who cares about Toyota.
Chevy has 17 of 21 cars in the top 35, which guarntees a start next week.
Ford has 8 of 9
Dodge has 6 of 12.
Roush is the major Ford player with 5 of the 9 cars. put Kenseth in a top Chevy and he would be smoking the field. Put Ryan Newman in a Chevy instead of his Dodge and he is in the top ten rther than 26th.
Just a NASCAR bias to Chevy. But hey, NASCAR has always been good at being biased.
