This is such a news story, things happen. It is simply a chance to stir up the chase.

These things happen, but not to top Chevy drivers.

Heck, NASCAR even changed Chase system (from 10 to 12 drivers) because Stewart was 11th last year. But I don't remember them changing rules when Biffle, who was 2nd in 2005, ended 13th in 2006.

I guess they'll have to change rules again since Earnhardt Jr. didn't qualify to Chase this year.

They are in fact already discussing this. And when Gordon whined about losing his huge points lead to the Chase format, they started talking about giving the "regular season winner" a points boost for the chase. Then there's Johnson's championship that shouldn't have been.....you get the idea.

I used to be a huge fan of NASCAR, it could do no wrong. But things have been going steeply downhill lately. The COT has turned into a boondoggle, the penalty situation's gone from no big deal to a big deal, they've turned the whole series into Sponsor *****s (see the AT&T v Sprint lawsuit), and while they coddle the heck out of Toyota and praising GM, they're letting the Ford (and to a point Dodge) teams wither.

Absolutely true in my opinion. They better wake up. Before long it will be called "CHOYOTA" racing. Or...Chevrolota??
