In Nascar, I think that would be the one person who could get more television coverage than Dale Jr. at a plate track.

Thats all it is. If she goes to Nascar, thats a whole other level of advertising for nascar and her sponsors.

Besides, if she goes to Roush, and martin retires, she can drive the Viagra ford and really be a quicker picker upper

I'd love to see her come to Nascar, she's more of a man than half of these crybabies that are out there now!

 

I might actually watch a NASCAR race if she were in it. Well not the whole race, but maybe the last five minutes.

 

Notice that her parents are looking at Nascar, not necesarily her. Might just be a bargaining ploy for when she's shopping for an IRL/Champ Car ride.

 

She wins rookie of the year in '05. Lots of buzz and publicity.

Then this year from a report I heard, she had a 'mediocre to average year'.... her father apparently is no dummy- to keep her in the spotlight and the BUZZ going, (instead of sticking it out to do better the next year as most racers would do) move her to NASCAR and make it a big media event. Then if she doesn't do well her first year, he can always say she 'needs time to adjust to the Nascar style.....'

 

Nothing against women...but Danica Patrick is the Michelle Wie equivalent for racing....Hasnt won yet, but still, whenever they compete, its all anyone ever talks about....

 

Isn't there a new rule that says that each car owner can have only 4 drivers in Nextel Cup? Martin will retire, so if Jack Roush hire Patrick that means that either Biffle, Edwards, McMurray or Kenseth will have to leave.

 

I heard that the Danica clan has stated she won't enter NASCAR next year so it appears to have been a ploy to try and get her a better IRL contract.

 

The rumor I'm hearing now is that she'll be with Andretti/Green, along with Kanaan and Marco. Herta and Franchitti are looking likely to be running the new Acura LMP2 in Andretti's new ALMS operation.

 

Patrick will go to NASCAR at some point. There is too much money to be made for her there. The money she could make in the Nextel Cup and endorsements would be hard to turn down. If she had even moderate sucess on the track, the endorsement money would be amazing.

 

If another women beats her to the punch and has success in NASCAR first she'll look pretty bad, so I'd expect her to jump when another woman gets a full-time ride as well. There's a couple in the pipeline who could be there in the next 2-3 years, but not this year.

 

She signed with AGR today.

 

She's good looking, she can drive, and think of all the Millions in Jacket and Hat sales alone! Of course Nascar is all about marketing. To really kick it off, she could do a stand in on WWE, have OCC build her a bike, go on Celebrity Fear Factor and jump on Oprah's couch!

 

Despite reports that Danica Patrick's father/manager was in exploratory talks with various NASCAR teams to turn his daughter into a dedicated left-turner, word is coming out that the Queen of Open-Wheel Racing has signed with Andretti Green Racing for the 2007 season of the Indy Racing League. This means Danica will be leaving her current IRL team, Rahal Letterman, at the end of this season when her contract expires. Danica will join Tony Kannan and Marco Andretti on the Andretti Green Racing roster for 2007 and get another shot at reaching her goal of winning the Indianapolis 500.
