Ambrose got screwed!! Gordon couldn't take what he dished out so he had to resort to taking Ambrose out!! I do think when the final yellow dropped Gordon was in the lead before Ambrose punted him, but Gordon's disregard for the 'black flag' and his "bumping" of Ambrose under the yellow should have delegated him to the pits and off the track!

Actually Gordon got screwed. He passed Ambrose and then Ambrose bumped him for no reason. What did Ambrose expected, that Gordon won't bump him back?
Before Ambrose bumped Gordon there was a yellow flag so there was no reason to send Gordon to 13th position. He was first or in worst case second when yellow flag went up.

Go watch the replays and you will see the damage to Gordon's front bumper and Ambrose's right rear quarter panel. Gordon got into Ambrose to make the first pass and Ambrose returned the favor. The yellow flag corner workers were not in sync with NASCAR timing and thus Ambrose maintained the lead. And Gordon's disregard for the black flag REGARDLESS of what he thought should warrant a penalty. In fact, NASCAR shouldn't have went to green until Gordon complied.

Even if that's true (I didn't saw Gordon bumping Ambrose for lead so I can't tell), I don't see why NASCAR told Gordon to go to 13th position. Yellow flag was up way before Ambrose bumped him.

Well, maybe it was determined that Gordon passed Ambrose under yellow. I agree the yellow flags were waving before Ambrose punted Gordon, maybe the yellow flag was up before Gordon bumped/passed Ambrose thus NASCAR giving Ambrose back the lead. That would seem to make sense.

I don't know what NASCAR rules say about passing under yellow, but if that's the reason why they didn't want him in 2nd place, I think it would be fair to put him to last price on lead lap, not on 13th position.

Too bad because before that yellow flag I was really hoping for two Fords in front.

That's true. I agree, if it was determined that Gordon passed under the yellow then Marcos should have been penalized by NASCAR for punting Robby, but Marcos did what NASCAR told him to do . . . lineup in 1st. Gordon, regardless of what he thought, disregarded what NASCAR told him.

It was a GREAT race, one of my favorites this season. Great racing, and it would have been cool to have two Fords cross the line 1-2. I like Robby, he is a great talent. I just wish the outcome today made more sense. I'm all over the internet looking for additonal information/pictures.

jayski.com is reporting that NASCAR is evaluating whether or not to allow Robby to race tomorrow. I think the penalty should be in the BUSCH series and NOT in the Cup. If they are to penalize him.

I think Robby had a great chance to win next week at Watkins Glen. It's not oval track and he's been pretty good at those kinds of tracks. If he didn't run out of gas, he would probably won Infineon.

As quoted from this article on nascar.com

"Once the caution came out, the field was frozen," Balash said. "Once the field is frozen, all cars must maintain cautious pace in order to be scored. At the time that the field was frozen, [Ambrose] was in the lead. [Gordon] did not maintain a cautious pace, and by NASCAR rule, cars that do not maintain a cautious pace are scored only when they blend back into the continuous line.
Regardless of who of should of been where, Robbie Gordon ignored the black flag, and his actions on the track were completely inexcusable...

Attached is a photo of Robby getting into Marcos not sure if it is the first or second time. I think it may be the second.

My VCR screwed up, so I didn't get to see it. Sounds like it was a good race until things got rediculous at the end.

No matter what Nascar screwed it up...AGAIN!!! It should have been either marcos or Robby for sure.

The Pocono race was a snoozer to say the least!!!

I, in fact, did snooze through the Pocono race until it was time to turn on the Indy race from MIS.
