Did Barrichello actually do it? I just couldn't do that, ask anyone to do it, or benefit from it if I were Schumacher. That's just shameful.

My $0.2, restrictor plate racing is foul period, Dale senior said it many times, even though he was great at it he hated it and after he died in one I though for sure NASCAR would change things and they didn't. They won't be happy until they kill another driver in one of these BIG ONES. The racing has been pretty close and good without it but it blows me away that they still race like this, doesn't matter if your good or even the best just lucky on this type of track and yes the next time it comes down to it you will see a wreck for the lead on the last lap. I'm not a fan of either cars but he had the position after going high and got blocked and swung below and had him..period

Unless there is a really good college game on, I'll be watching again as usual, though with a little less support this week after that fiasco at Talladega. If they keep this up, someday I won't watch at all.

All that being said. Who else here is going to watch tonight?

I'll probably watch the race tonight, I got nothing better to do.

I just hope it will be a better race than it was last night in Nationwide series.

I was really worried about Kvapil there for a second. That looked like a nasty head on hit into that concrete wall. Luckily he walked away. More bad luck for Kenseth.

I watched through the 80's and some of the 90's until it was evident there were super powers in NASCAR and I got bored watching the same thing week in and week out. At this point I am a boredom only fan that tunes in whenever there is nothing else to do.

As it stands now, I haven't watched any NASCAR since about mid-season and don't plan to watch next year except maybe Daytona. It's actually become less interesting to me than IROC, which is a trick. The only thing that gets my blood moving about NASCAR today is when I boil with anger over their BS management of the individual races and their bending over backwards for Toyota and the Super Teams.

??sick of nascar?

I haven't watched it in years, it's just not enjoyable much anymore. I'd much rather watch pretty much anything dirt-track (sprints!) :-) It seems more 'real'

I've been watching Nascar for around 20 years. Over the last several years I've been growing tired of the increased sponsor mentions, like how the drivers HAVE to mention thier sponsors in every interview. At the end of the race, they make sure the logo on thier drink is facing the camera as they take a sip. blah, blah, blah. Towards the end of this season, I watched less and less of the races, even missing a few altogether. Even the Awards show is getting annoying, I hardly watched any of it this year. I had to turn it off during this year's comedian John Pinette's monologue. Just get to the awards and you can cut the show in half. I'm not really even looking forward to 2009 that much, I might watch Daytona and a few others races next year.

Sadly, this same thing is creeping into the NHRA as it grows. I'm a big fan of John Force, but his interviews (and pretty much any time he talks) are all about Ford, Castrol GTX, Nordic Boats, Brand Source, Old Spice, Auto Club, etc. I understand the sponsors pay the bills, but it's just getting to be too much. We see the logos on the cars, do we need to hear the names every second? I guess so.

I lost interest years ago when Fox Sports got involved with all their cartoonish graphics. I think it got way too commercialized. Not to mention that it's about as exciting as watching two lanes of traffic driving by on the local interstate.

Petty enterprises fires 36 of 42 Employees, Jeff Gordan announces salary cut to keep team alive,
Tracks want part of bailout from Goverment Bailout, it has gone down hill from this old mans
viewpoint.

they should just go back to the way it was, find 20-30 cars from the dealership, make a few on the fly adjustments and go from there, that's why the races on top gear are 1000x more interesting than NASCAR...I happen to be related to a former driver, who still works in the sport, and he wasnt liking where it was headed 4-5 years ago, I understand the sponsor mentions a little more in NHRA, it's more expensive really for them, but it's getting a bit much there too.
