Strange difference in price (US vs Canada)

For some reasons, even with the Canadian dollar stronger than the US, the price of the base Shelby Coupe is 53645$ US , compare with 60549 $ can on the North side of the border. It's understandable since the Shelby is an American car, but the price should be closer.....I believe !

Anyway this difference is usual and is expend to most of the North American Car's market.

Anyway what's funny, is the difference in price for options on the Shelby. Per example, the SVT performance package cost a premium 3995 $ US versus only 2000$ can ....lucky canadian we are !

The recaro seats new for 2012, cost 1595$ US and only 1000$ Can, shaker 1000 cost 1295$ US and 1000$ Can in Canada, and the Nav package 2340$ US and in Canada 2300$ Can.

That's weird is'n it ?

It's Canada, of course it's strange, eh?

/Yah, yah, I know, 'Take off!'
//Bob and Doug have ruined me, haven't they?
///No, wait, Quebec City... that probably should be "Décollez!" or something... my bad, and bad translaton via Babelfish.

Its prob due to marketing, americans are willing to pay more for racing seats since we can use them compared to the tundra of canada?

supply and demand.

That doesn't make sense, if we couldn't fit in them, why make them more expensive? Ford would put the seats that we can't fit in as standard, so we would have to option up to the ones we can fit in.

Living in Toronto, I personally can attest to that. I priced out a 2009 GT/CS in 2008 and the order guides were different between USA and Canada. After all the research (warranties, option packages etc.) I ended purchasing the car in Canada even with the currency at around par at that time.

Sometimes its not worth it, others totally.

With the Mustang if you price out the exact same options, they are comparible. We have to remember that GTs come with a lot of stuff that are options on the US cars.

Other things like the BOSS/Shelby's are flat out cheaper in the states.
