I know when I got my mustang, within the first week my camera, head unit, amp and 12 alpine type R were installed. Mach 460 speakers do great too!
He already has factory nav/elec pack. Completely unnecessary to change out the head unit...

Lol just sayin man. I have the factory nav on order too. No point paying $2300 for an 8" screen to swap it out with a $1200 7" screen that does all the same stuff...

Why would a aftermarket cost you that much?

Personally because to me it doesn't finish the audio build, it kind of hypes it up but then to only have the stock head unit to use is just a plain idea to me...

A new head unit adds a great new look to the interior of your car and cans find many for decent prices.

I can see if he wants to make it seem all stock, but I was simply suggesting

I know you have a 5.0 on the way so don't get that swollen head lol

If it were anything other than a complete factory unit I'd completely agree with you, but today's factory units are so integrated, especially the factory Electronics Pack. It's not like you can just swap a head unit anymore. Some people *have* done it, and it keeps sync intact, but those people start with the base radio or base Shaker, not the EP.

To get any head unit worth its weight that even comes close to the complete all encompassing package, with 8" screen, you're spending at least $1500 and that's before the trim kit and all adapter to make it all work. It's just not worth it. The PAC module + a processor is today's head unit swap for the guy that likes the factory look. If I could get my amazing sound and keep it looking factory, that's even better to me these days. The aftermarket units just don't look right in the newer integrated interiors, and don't make sense when you spent $2300 on the factory head unit...

An aftermarket unit would always be awesome, but Like the guy said, everything is so integrated into the car it makes it hard to remove it. That's why the electronics package is so good. The Sound processor will clean EVERYTHING up, I have used them before, and they can make it so my ole' lady sounds good singing. LOL

The head unit streams from my phone, has Navi, a USB connection, and will have a back up camera AND a front camera, via a lock pick, also will be able to play DVDs and input on the Navi WHILE driving. Will also be adding some blue ambient lighting, maybe in the air vents, under seats and under the dash, maybe under the hood

Thinking maybe a floating sub rack at the back of the trunk, and sub in tire hole. Trying to vision all possibilities in my head.

ANY input is greatly appreciated, some ideas I don't like can even give inspiration for something else.

My first mod will be tomorrow, just an escort Passport Max with a blendmout for the mirror, gotta start out slow!! PRIORITIES!!

Dunno why I got rid of the Challenger, just had it 4 years and it was time. Waited 5 months and saw the Shelby. What a BEAST this thing is, just floored it for the first time. Spun the wheels going into 3rd, waaahoooo!!!!

Gorgeous car, love the white with blue. Enjoy that wonderful car! Question, you have the Nav and EP, but not the Shaker sound system? I thought you get the Shaker 500 automatically with that...? I did back in 2011.

Nice, Jeff. Enjoy it. That yellow Challenger looks like it was at SEMA. I work and attend SEMA (I live in LV). What year was that? I don't remember seeing it in 2013.
