Shelby's detuned at the factory?

Shelby's detuned at the factory?
I was talking to my dealer this weekend (still waiting for mine to show up). He said the Shelby's show up at the dealership detuned, and after 100 miles need to go back to the dealership for the final tune. Something like only 2lbs of boost instead of spec. Anyone else hear or experience this?

I've heard that much, but the dealer gave me the impression that it had to go back to the dealership for the final tune. He was referring to some previous model year, not sure which one. He said they got the memo from Ford after they had been delivering them to customers and had to call each customer.

its 5 consecutive miles or 50 cold starts for full boost to unlock. you dont have to return to the dealer unless you have an issue. Cars max boost level stock is 14 lbs, you should see anything above 13

straight from the GT500 supplement owners manual:
BREAKING-IN YOUR VEHICLE
Your vehicle requires a break-in period. Drive your new vehicle at least
100 miles (160 km) before performing extended wide open throttle
maneuvers and at least 1,000 miles (1,600 km) before performance/
competition conditions. Vary your speed frequently in order to give the
moving parts a chance to break in.
Alternate calibration
Your Shelby GT500 power train control module (PCM) strategy contains
a feature to limit supercharger boost pressure and engine speed to
4,000 rpm for the first five consecutive miles of vehicle operation or 50
engine start/warm up cycles. This feature is enabled prior to shipment. If
neither of these conditions have been satisfied prior to customer
delivery, full power will not be available

that is from the 2013...its available online.

I have the pdf file that I downloaded, I copied that text straight from it...trust me it applies to the current car, verified by owners already. Just troll SVTperformance...plenty of stuff in the 2013 section

I didn't pay attention to how exact the 5 miles was for the initial baby steps, but it was definitely neutered at first. But the day after I bought it I took it out and it was hitting 14 psi on the gauge already.

I heard the same. I talked to a guy at SVT about fluids, fuel, etc., and he said to leave the break-in oil in the engine for the entire duration (don't change it until it's called for). Said it was better for the health of the engine, to not worry about the metal bits that get caught in the filter (that's what the filter's for), that the break-in oil is necessary for more than just the first 500-1000 miles. "Leave it in, use 91 octane, check your fluids if you track it and change your oil properly and it will do just fine."

I've heard the same and have done the same with other new vehicles. Considering the prohibitive cost of replacing...well, ANYTHING on the 5.8 (if the 5.0 is the coyote, I'm calling the 5.8 the yosemite), I decided to call SVT to get some 'official' clarification on such topics. What he told me is what I put down in the post you quoted. The problem is, ask enough experts and you're going to get some conflicting answers. So I decided to stop at the guy from SVT.

Go back to your dealership and kick that guy in the nuts. Also tell him there is no Loch Ness Monster, and Bogfoot is a lie. Where the hell do these idiots come up with these things?? They're probably the same type of dealer that says the car is limited to 500 so we better mark 'em up!
