Here is an interesting farewell note, recently posted. The substance of the contents as well as what is not included is perplexing.
All,
Now that everything is official , I wanted to write and thank you for all the support and all the friendships, thank you for making my job so enjoyable and satisfying. You are great friends and supporters of the brand and passionate warriors when it comes to support and helping us get to every level we attained in the last 5 years. As I always say it takes a great team to get a company to the highest levels and you all, are part of that team! Without all of you this wouldn't have happened. Thank you for the all the emails and PM's. They were and are appreciated very much. Please support the current management the way you supported me, they continue to work hard for you.
My personal thanks to Gary Davis, Gary Patterson , Roger Sorrel, Jim Owens, Vicki Prock, Joann Mansel, Terri Youngblood, Robert Lane, Sharon Elliot, Randy Roberts, Jim Wicks, David Apgar, Mid America Team, Bud Mahoney Tracey Smith, John Luft and their teams for their hard work, support and friendships.

The end of an era.
I emailed and pmed back and forth with AmyB when I was getting my car. I know she was a controversial figure, but my dealings with her were always positive.
I met Bud in person and spoke to him on the phone...great guy. I wish him the best.

I would have to add John Walker to that list...he's the one that enabled my request to have my car delivered to my front door...first time I felt like a kid on christmas day in 30 something years.
To me the 2006-2008 period at SAI in Las Vegas, (from when they announced the GT-H to when the last SGT rolled out of SAI) was the "Golden years"...kinda like 1964 to 1966 for Shelby American in Los Angeles.
Yes SAI built Super Snakes, KRs, Terlinguas, etc after this, but I'm biased
16 Apr 2006: 2006 Shelby GT-H announced. I wished it didn't have a spoiler, had a manual option and available to public
7 Aug 2006: 2007 Shelby GT announced...no spoiler and manual option I wished it came in Vista Blue and was cheaper
13 Jun 2007: 2008 Shelby GT in Vista Blue announced. I cancel my 2008 Mustang GT order
26 Jun 2007: I place my order for a Shelby GT with Wayne Morris Ford in Georgia for $35K...just over invoice price
Early Nov 07: I get a tour of the SAI facility and get to see Shelby GTs being assembled
16 Dec 2007: My 2008 Shelby GT 08SGT0220 is delivered to my house...there is much rejoicing.
~Feb 2008: Last 2008 Shelby GT rolls out of SAI
Just reminiscing about the "good old days"

I had the impression Amy was right below Shelby being the main spokesperson, promoter, with much atribute to Shelby's revival. To be successful and to get the ax does not make sense and shows a lot who she was really dealing with. To say I among others on this forum clashed with her is an understatement. Sugar coating or covering up an issue is not something I admire but her efforts, dedication, and contributions to Shelby are nothing less than admirable.
In a way I feel sorry for her but I guess it was bound to happen and received a rude awakening as many others before her. Perhaps she now understands those who pass on being Shelby fans.

I expected skepticism but it is a logical assumption given the announcements were provided by a hardly known individual with emphasis on the replacements rather than those departing, that is hardly a show of gratitude. What it is also curious is neither one of the arrupt departures mentioned or thanked Carroll Shelby on their posts which came days or weeks after the news came out. It has been a pattern to address any Shelby rumor or story, positive or negative, at its point of origin. Amy's and Bud's were the exception.
Besides, I am not aware of any two-week notices or going away parties which would have been announced and celebrated, an event likely to have included fans, weeks or months ago.

That's possible, the question is why the distance and suspense between the main characters. In lieu of compliments there was silence or a matter of fact approach. That usually points out to avoiding providing details to the public, keeping the family affair in house, and not stirring the pot. Add the fact the job market for car enthusiasts is not one of the most stable hence, security is a priority not many are willing to part from unless one is lucky enough to find something better or it becomes unbearable.
I am familiar with the politics in businesses and in this instance regardless of the civility practiced by the participants it smells like fish.

No. Vendors do not exclusively cater to SA.
Obviously there would be less sales' volume but the account receivable departments or their legal departments would be a lot happier.
