I'm looking to buy a GT500 on X-plan!
I've admired these cars for years, but with the availability of x-plan, I'm ready to buy. Now the trick. Finding a dealer who will accept x-plan. I suppose using drop ship is an option, if no one local will sell sell me x-plan. I'm looking for a 2012 GT500 in black with or without a Satin Black stripe, or a Kona Blue with a white stripe. The only option I'm lookin for is Nav. I guess it's time to hit the phones, unless any of you out there know someone who is ready to deal, x-plan that is.

Will it be a daily driver?

Yes, it will be a daily driver, which is why I'm not looking for SVT package. Being able to use it for 3 season's would work fine for me, using the car more as a crusier.

There are quite a few black GT500s within 500 miles from your location.

Thank you for your information. I have been tracking Cars.com and Autotrader lately, but as you probably already know, most of these cars are ordered with SVT. There are very few with base suspension and Nav, preferrably black with Satin stripe or no stripe, a sleeper look. I'm looking for a 2012 because it leases out less than a 2011. A 39 month lease with $0 down, x-plan price for a car configured the way I want, works out to around $560 per month. A lease will allow me to walk away from the car should I decide I just gotta have the all new Mustang in 3 years.

You are welcome. Most likely you will either have to order or wait for the more dealers to have 12s in stock.
I'll keep an eye out in case what you are looking for pops up.

I'll be honest right up front with you. I wasn't able to work out a deal with them when I bought mine a few months ago, we were just too far apart on price. But, x-plan wasn't available at that time either so you may have better luck. Can't hurt to give them a call.
Edit: It won't let me put a direct link to the car, so just search their inventory. Its about the 5th or 6th one down on the list of Mustangs, with pics. Stock #: 7019P

Using a transport might not be a bad idea. Two years ago years ago I thought of using a transport for 900 miles and it was just under $1K.
I decided against it, I took a flight and drove back which was lots of fun with a few close calls...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. The car at Sandy Springs also has glass roof. I like the glass roof, but it adds almost another $2000 to the price of the car. Given my wife said "get your car, it's been your dream", the only stipulation was to keep it around $550 per month. Base car with Nav on x-plan will keep me right around that number.

Sorry about that, I didn't even notice. I've spent the last few months shopping around, scouring sites and dealers and have a pretty good sized list of places I've checked with. I'll start going through them as I have time and let you know if I come across something.

You also might want to call David Ragan Ford in Perry Ga.

Talk to Michael Morris. He's a true car guy, really into the Shelbys. He's gotten Shelbys for people all over the US. IIRC, hes sold around 40 GT500s, 20+ Shelby GTs, several Super Snakes, and has already sold close to 20 of the new GT350s.

I'm also considering a GT-500, but am wondering if you can get a deal that beats X-plan on a left over 2011 just because the dealer wants to move old stock? Don't know if your desire for leasing rules out '11 models as it sounds like you've already done your homework.
Good Luck!

Do the Recaros put it out of your budget range?

I talked to a dealer in Michigan today. He said he will accept x-plan. If he cannot trade for the car with another dealer, he will order one for me and drop ship to New Hampshire. We'll see how this progresses. Thank you all for your help.

Okay, spoke to a dealer 8 miles from me. When I asked if he had allocation, he said yes, and that he had put a dealer order in for it. He said as long as it's not pulled he can change it. It's black w/SVT red stripes and Nav. All he would have to do is take off SVT and do stripe delete to make it exactly what I want. He will change the order with a deposit, and give me the purchase order. Does a purchase order mean that the car is about to be built? Best of all, he is selling at x-plan.

Does a purchase order mean the dealer has allocation? Since the manager said it should be pulled any day now, this implies it is about to be built. I don't understand the process, so I am concerned about putting down a deposit on a car which may or may not be built within the next few months.
So, as assurance of allocation, is purchase order enough? Should the manager be able to tell me when I can expect the car?
