GT350 5.0 - CR Question...

Someone on my local boards posted this and I'm just looking for some confirmation, as he didn't list his supposed sources. Does anyone know if the CR was lowered in the GT350's 5.0L? He is claiming it was lowered to 9.0:1 to allow the Whipple to provide more boost. I haven't read every post on the new GT350 in here, but I don't recall seeing anything mentioned about this CR change...

I haven't seen that mentioned in any of Shelby's press releases. Lowering the CR would have required Shelby to tear down the motor and install, presumably, pistons with a "bowl" on the crown rather than a "dome." I honestly don't think Shelby has that kind of engineering or engine-building know-how.

From what they said over at Team Shelby, they will be working with Ford engineers on the engine after everything is finalized.

The rods and pistons are NOT being changed out. The CR will remain at 11:1. This was posted by Amy B. over at the TS website.

Yes they may be working with them on the tune,
but as Dig-it mentioned, the hardware and CR remains the same.

Marz, no doubt...

Sounds good, thanks guys. I didn't imagine they went through the trouble of altering the CR, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. I posted on my local board asking him to cite his sources; he's looking for a link.
