Brakes Squeaking

Has anyone had any issues with your brakes squeaking? I have a 2010 GT500 Convertible and the brakes squeak from time to time, which is embarassing when you're trying to show off such a nice car to your friends. It doesn't seem to effect performance at all and it doesn't do it all the time. If anyone knows an easy fix or you think I should take it in to the dealership, please let me know.

Mine do from time to time. The car also makes groaning noises during low speed turns.

High performance brakes are prone to squeaking, a side effect of hard, performance compound pads and sometimes happens when some contaminants get on the pads like oil or grease.

The squeaks shouldn't affect the performance at all. And if you are ever close enough to a racecar braking hard into a corner you will most likely hear the pads squeal on it too.

If the noise really bothers you, you can apply some anti-noise compound to the back of the pad and you can have the rotors re-surfaced with a cross-hatch pattern, both of these methods can help stop the noise.

bpmurr,

My car makes that same groaning noise. I was thinking about taking it in to get checked out? Is it anything I should be worried about?

Mine was making a groan from the rear end at low speeds when turning, the dealer gave me a paper that said something to the effect of, "it's a high performance rear end, they make noise at low speed in turns".

Groan and squeak axel

I had rather obnoxious squeaking at slow speeds. I took it in to the dealer and they replaced the axels. The squeaking did go away.

I do have the Groan at parking lot speeds. I have been wondering about it. I don't trust the dealer so I am weary of taking it in. I also wonder if it has something to do with the tire size and differential. it is almost a posi-traction type of problem?

Any input
