2014 Shelby GT500 Delivery Nightmare
Well I am happy to say that the Shelby is BEAUTIFUL! The paint and body shop did a phenomenal job!! Kudos! The car is gorgeous! Just like many said, you cannot tell that there was any damage.
My husband and I will be picking up our bundle of joy on Friday. Wow are we excited!
I will post pictures on Friday.

The Sales Manager at the first dealership I ordered my car from is a liar. He tried to extort an extra $10K over the negotiated price of my car when I brought in my deposit to order the car. I picked up my pile of money and went to another dealer.
Car dealers could not maintain a business on only 5% of car sales. I know a number of car salespeople & the profit margin is typically higher than that. Profit on used cars is higher than new cars.
I negotiate at almost every store where I shop. The best is to ask if they have any coupons or specials. It never hurts to ask & I've saved hundreds of dollars just by asking for coupons or special discounts.

I worked as a sales manager for 12 years. I can understand his annoyance. People tend to treat commissioned sales people like thieves waiting to rob you. They forget that most sales people are everyday people that are trying to make a living.
While it is funny, calling a place a stealership insults people that spend countless hours there to serve your needs and obviously try to make a living. Consumers tend to think there is do much money being made in sale. There is but it isn't the people in the dealership or on the sales floor that make it. When people make extravagant demands, it places sales teams and managers in a no win position. That is incredibly frustrating. People often treat sales people like they own them because they know their sale feeds that salespersons family.
My point to this long post is give a person a break. This site is social site where enthusiasts share their opinion openly. Could he have used more tact? Yes. I have no problem with information he shared and his sharing of his frustration.
I wouldn't divulge where I work and don't plan too. I sometimes vent my frustrations on sites I frequent. I think he was doing just that. The folks here that do give their information are using this site as a sales tool. Two very different things.

So moral of the story is, there are always TWO sides of the story. Are there good decent sales folks? Sure. Are there good decent customers? Sure. But both are put in a bad light by the myriad of those that are not "good" sales folks/customers.

Good points as well. But the same frustrations you all share in regards to customers treating sales folks like crap is reciprocated by "most" (ok, let's change the word to "a lot") sales folks treating customers like crap. Why do you think we retort that way? It's because we ourselves, the customers, have been treated with blatant disrespect. How do I know? Experience. Heck, my wife gets treated like crap almost everh dealership she goes to... they somehow view women as car-dumb, if you will, and that pisses me off. On the other hand, I have the utmost respect for those dealerships and sales folks that DO have their act together. I currently love three different places that sold us our 3 cars. I would buy from them in a heartbeat, and would recommend others to buy from them too.

Side note: I've enjoyed reading your points. Thank you for not taking my comments personally.
You are very right. The one difference is that as customers we have a way to show our displeasure with service. We can leave and take our business elsewhere. We can call or write corporate. A person in sales that responds to a ride customer often loses their job. I've had to fire usually good people for a moment when they were pushed to far by someone. As an employer, I'd rather my staff vented on a forum instead of at work.

When I went to buy my Boss I talked to dealer before I called and met with a agreement, when I showed up I was about to sign papers and as we read it over they slide a $5,000 ADM on it. I'm like this isn't what we talked and agreed on?
Says it's a rare car, blah blah. We got up and left, Called a dealer 30 minutes away and everything went perfect.

Which is why I drive to a dealership 25 miles away when I have one 4 miles away. I have given them a couple chances for my business, but both times they lowed balled my trade in value ( I get the X-Plan price so it wasn't a matter of another dealer giving me more on my trade but not as much discount on the new car). After the second time, I took the sales guy outside and showed him how the car was mint ( which was 4 years old with only 13,850 miles on it) and how it was an insult what the guy who took it out for the test drive offered. The car which wasn't driven in winter or bad weather needed no detailing, they could just put it out on the lot. I told the sales guy who was very nice about the whole matter, that it wasn;t against him, but I would never bring my business there again. Both times I got almost $2,000 more on my trade going elsewhere. The other dealership treated me better in every way, not just on the trade. I buy a lot of cars, so I told the guy as long as they treat me right, they would have my business.

When people buy elsewhere for $200 and then expect the "Red carpet treatment " in service for the other dealers screw up it can send you over the edge. Its not all about price...but service AFTER the sale. Our sales and service departments have CSI/SSI scores over 97% for our 12 month rolling. I am VERY proud of that! When someone buys at the 72%CSI store for $200, well...
I learned my lesson not to vent on here anymore.
There truly are TWO sides to a story and sometimes customers can be their worst enemy by name calling and bad mouthing the VERY people who are trying their VERY best to make them happy. As you can see I apologized for my rant
a few posts above and am VERY happy she got her car and it now happy!
P.S I received my vin on May 21. I looked at the window sticker and it states may 28 build. Not sure I understand the numbers. There was the #1 infront of the dates. I noticed a #2 stands for "to be built" but, what does a #1 mean? any idea, thanks Joseph...

A picture from a recent car show my husband and I attended. My husband won a trophy in his class with his truck.
Been busy putting miles on the Shelby. We have almost 700 miles on.
