I think they thought it would help with the taillights but it's not necessary. The other problem is the stupid black plastic on either side of the plates. Looks to me like the car needs to be dark or have black stripes for it to look decent.
It is NOT removable. There are TONS of holes stamped into the decklid that the blackout panel uses to attach.

If you remove it your deck lid will look like swiss cheese

Yeah, cause no Mustangs have a blackout panel.

Actually, because that's what it looks like when I first glance at it.

That's what my brain sees. It's an unfortunate coincidence.

And the ADMs begin! Buddy of mine stopped by Wynne (sp) Ford in Hampton VA and one of the guys there told him he couldn't touch for less than 5k over msrp. Fed my buddy a line of crap about having to pay Ford an early access fee on each car.

Well, the way he presented the fee was crap. There is a "fee" to sell GT500s. Its two $1,000 payments for the 2013 and 2014 model year. But its not an "early access fee" but the program fee to be able to sell them. Without signing up, a dealer can't even dealer trade for one down the line.

On a stripe delete I think it looks good. With stripes it breaks the back up too much.

Jeff I can't tell you how unaware dealers are of the fee details. The GM of the dealer I do business with thought it was $2k a year and I had to politely explain to him what his people should have.

Eh, I doubt it. They knew it was going to be late getting out. Look at the '11 GTs. They opened order banks in January, expected to be shipping in late march, most people didn't see their cars until June-July. This time around they said to not even expect them until June. If we see any of these GT500s by August I'll be happy.

your thinking wrong.

There simply arent alot of 2013 Shelby's built at this point.

Be patient.

Maybe Ford can have a day where they rent out VIR and invite Camaro5. Then watch them cry!

I've placed my order already. I'll be surprised if I see it before late Summer, but I expected it to be a long wait.

Patience is a virtue.

I don't think there's anything at all wrong with the GT500...I think like Shaun said, there aren't very many built at this point. They just now came out with reviews for the V6 and the GT. It's going to be a bit I think before the Shelby is reviewed.
