2010 gt500 Clutch - should I worry?

I've put about 1200 miles now on my Shelby - had a few minor mishaps along the way in terms of hard stalling it once (dealer left it in gear after leaving it for the day, parked on completely flat ground and didn't even think to check if it was in gear before taking my foot off) and soft stalling while driving her (total of maybe 3 or 4 times) on a few hills.

I'm noticing now once in a while when taking off from a dead stop that i feel a slight wobble/shimmy/pulse through the clutch pedal - almost like chatter but without the noise to go along with it. Getting used to the car over the last 2 months I'm a bit more used to revving a bit higher to get her moving and babying her a bit less after hearing that the clutch was meant to take it.

Anyone else feeling a slight vibration/shimmy in the clutch pedal?

The proper way to park a manual trans vehicle is to leave it in 1st or reverse gear. Leaving it in neutral and only relying on the parking brake is asking for trouble.

But that causes problems with the remote start!

I only put it in gear on inclines/declines - if its flat, I don't leave it in gear - I have never done that with my other manual, my father has never done that with any of his Ferraris or his MG TC. No need to leave it in gear. Might not be right, but its what I do - everyone is different. The question was re: clutch slippage/vibration, not about my manual parking habits...

I tend to agree, if you have a good parking brake, I find no point in slipping it in first/reverse, however on a sharp incline I usually turn the wheels toward the curb and slip it in gear, along with the parking brake.

How long is that cable on the parking brake designed to last? I fear it will stretch and either stop working because it's too long to have any tension, or it will break one day from being pulled too tight. I do pull it tight. I have a really steep driveway, and although the garage is flat, after that it's all downhill. Otherwise, I'm like everyone else, I use first gear when parking anywhere that's not flat, and sometimes, I just put it in first anyway. More of a just-in-case thing. It makes me feel a little better about walking away from her.

Clutch clipping at all?
Or just a shudder.
If you really fear, take it in.

As for parking brake.
Incline or not, I ALWAYS put it in gear!
Very few roads are ever totally flat, and all it takes is for your parking brake to snap (it is just a cable...)
I've actually seen this happen.
And why NOT put it in gear....?

As for NOT using the parking brake, its more likely to fail than using it....if it sits useless for years.
If you don't...hey...all the power to ya.

'Never happened' ... all it takes is once, and you'll still be saying 'but that's never happened'
as your chasing your car down the street, or fetching it out of someones front window.

Around 12,500 on mine, no shimmy issues. I had a squeak in the pedal, but the dealer fixed it.
