'11 Shelby GTS convertible
I'm posting my wife's car because there seems to be growing interest in the GTS's on several sites ... which are no longer offered. SAI will tell you that the program isn't dead but I'm not sure what they are doing with it. The GTS program was originally advertised as a "starter" type program to get younger users into Shelby's to build brand loyalty. While that's a great idea the execution of the program as been anything but stellar. It's been a great car but dealing with SAI has been anything but great. I drive an '11 GT500 convertible (made by Ford). The GTS drives well and looks great but since I have 3 kids my next buy will be from Roush, Saleen, or anyone else buy SAI.

I saw one in Kona Blue at a cruise nite shortly after I took delivery of mine last year. I wanted to talk Mustangs with the owner, but he was such an asswipe. I told him I just got a Mustang and pointed to mine. His reaction: "Oh....that's nice. It's just a GT, right?" Then he walked away. A real pompous dick.
So when he wasn't looking, I keyed the side of his car.

Her GTS is not PC'd. SAI wanted $9100 and obviously you can get a PC, install, and tune for far less. We have issues at cruises too. Everyone thinks it's a robostang, you know, pieced together to look like a Shelby. And once you raise the hood and they see the cyclone engine everyone just scoffs. We pulled into a Shelby show in Hawaii and was asked to take the car off the lot. It appears that not many know about the GTS program. She has CSM11GTS0034 and is one of two convertibles produced in 2011. There is a FB site for GTS Mustangs.

I think it's beautiful and unique. Is yours a black with re stripes (avatar?)? If so, then you have an amazing combo between the two!
My lowly, run-of-the-mill GT can't get into that club.

My 500 is in the avatar. Believe it or not we didn't plan the colors. When I finally retired from the Army the ENCS (PX dealer) only had two 500s left, kona blue/red and the one I bought. When my wife left for Afghanistan (she's Army) I decided to get her a convertible because she loved the 500. At the time ENCS only had GT coupes, which I ordered. Before I took delivery ENCS called and said a buyer backed out and I could get a base red 3.7, AT (she won't learn to drive stick), from San Diego for $24K. I bought it and shipped it to SAI who promised to have it done before her return in 5 months. That's when the fun and games started. You have to pay SAI in advance. We got the car 30 days after she returned, with the wrong wheels. The sales people lied about the production dates and the wheels until I shipped them their emails. I ordered the interior later, paid in advance, and got the wrong logo (compare faux gas cap logo and block lettering on seats). After much back and forth they finally offered to make new GTS panels but I would have to pay to have them installed. All I can say is ... don't do business with SAI.
