1000hp Shelby coming soon?
1000hp Shelby coming soon?
So, I don't know if anybody on here listens to Adam Carolla. He has a couple of podcasts, one of which is called the Car Cast, and on it he has guests who are into cars somehow, whether they are famous people or they work in the industry. Well, on the most recent podcast (Saturday), Tom Nelson of Nelson Racing Engines was on. He makes 2000hp twin turbo engines. He mentioned that he is going to be working with Shelby soon on a limited run of 1000hp Shelby Mustangs. He said that something like 25 or 50 will be made, and that they'll be twin turbocharged. New Super Snake coming out in coming years, perhaps? Has anyone else heard anything about this? If you want to hear the podcast, here's a link. He mentions it sometime in the first 25 minutes. Don't know exactly when, I was driving to work listening to it.

If a 700hp Super Snake is $$$, then a 1,000hp low production # S-H-E-L-B-Y will be $$$$$$$$$$$$. How about making the current car (SSS) able to put its power to the ground more effectively instead?
I'd rather not listen to Adam Corrola for 25+ minutes. Can't stand his voice. I'll just take your word for it that he says something about a 1000hp stang (which I agree will never get the power to the ground).

Look at the evolution of the GT Mustang. 412 Hp wasn't something you'd see on many high production cars even 10 years ago. Even V6 mustangs are making more power than big block V8 engines back in the day. The bottom line is, as long as there is a market demand for performance, and as long as there are competetive vehicles on the market, we'll continue to see a rise in performance and efficiency of cars. Just enough is only just enough till it's not enough anymore.
