Lost a member of the family
...well that's what I'm feeling anyway.
We sold our Mach1. She didn't make the trip with us when we moved to FL. She has been sitting in storage back in New England. When we visited up there in February, I spent some time with her. But, I recieved an offer I couldn't refuse. And no it wasn't the money. A collector of sorts, inquired about her. One thing led to another, and I realized she would be going to a good place. That unfortunately, for me, is my achilies heel, when letting go of one of my prides. Could I have gotten more for her, sure, but that wasn't the intent. As a matter of fact, selling was NEVER the intent. But quite frankly, being the current, not-so-proud owner of two Florida homes, it is nice to see a little cash in the bank again. Buying the Bird had a lot to do with our decision. We had planned on the Bird purchase when the other property sold. But one happened, the other has not.
But: There just happen's to be a Classic Muscle Car Auction, coming to Tampa on the 19th & 20th. Soooooo, I'll have my ear to the ground.
By the by....................anybody interested in a nice Florida Home

Wow, that is a beautiful car. I'm sorry to see it go.
Also sorry about the real estate situation down there and the way it's tanked. I bought my house in Cape Coral in 2001 for $80K. I put a little work into it and sold it in 2005 for $226K. The house sold shortly thereafter for $170 something and my old neighbors home was just listed for $135K. Basically a $100K drop in 2 yrs.
Bottom line - now is a GREAT time to buy in Florida. It's only going to go up, definately a buyers market and a great time to make an investment. Good luck w/ the sale.
Hope the new owner takes good care of that treasure (the Mach).

I know how you feel bro. I did kinda the same thing with my first '67 fastback. Had her for 30 years and sold her partially to invest in the current one. You never know what life will bring ya.
