Actually capacitors keep your headlights from dimming when running bass... those are the ignition coil looking things in the trunk of bass heads cars... so you made a good suggestion

The instructions that come with the Amp were VERY helpful... had pictures to follow and walked you through the install. I believe all Amps come with install instructions nowadays. I personally dont have anything that would help you with a 4 or 6 channel. I mean you have your power wire to connect to the battery. Your REMOTE wire that connects to an open fuse behind the passenger fuse panely plate in the cab, the then you have your Output and input to hook up. Its not terribly confusing, I would take a look at the AMP instructions when you get it.

I think I am just going to go with a little 4 channel amp to boost the front and rear speakers for now. If I want real bass I'll add one in the trunk like Jarrod did. I guess I'll order this next month and install it then since it doesn't sound too hard. I figure if Jarrod can do it, then any retard can...:-)
Just FYI - if you want to re-do the front speakers, it's not as simple as buying a '4 or 6' channel amp. The car is not wired like that.
If you want to upgrade the system, in addition to just adding good sub-bass to round it out (a 10 or 12, or pair of 10's or 12's in the trunk), then you'll have to re-do the whole system, from head unit to speakers to amps.
My suggestion: Start out with the 500, and just tap into it to add a sub-amp and 2 subs to the rear. The mids/highs are plenty good in this system. Only a true audiophile will need more mid/high than what the 500 puts out. And if you try to add more, you're going to be in a world of hurt (money) to get it to work otherwise.

Thats why when I think of spending money on my car I just break a fifty into 1's and head to nighttrips... cheaper in the long run

Will that 5th channel support a sub??
Yes, according to the manual it will support a sub no problem.
Hey jeff if you spring for digital you have all the channels you need including movie channels

It's a 900 watt Earthquake 5 channel amp. At 2-ohm 4X240 and 1X500; 4-ohm 4X130 and 1X400. This should work right? I used to compete in IASCA and I always used Earthquake amps and they are awesome.
