Gt-500KR Wheels Opinion??????
I also read somewhere though that the production model will have an 18" version of what is on the show car.
Yes, it was on the GT500Source Site as well as posted on various places by People who went to the Show and Spectated. There is talk about offering the 20s as an option. We had Customers already asking at our Dealership. But no promises had been made. In the right wheel and finish, 20s look on the S197 as 18s look on the New Edge. The KR Concept's Wheels are forged as well; making the 20s size less of an issue performance wise.

The front nose of the Mustang is approximately 36 inches high and the tail is somewhere in the 42 inch range. 20 inch wheels might match the likes of cars such as a Ferrari, Ford GT, or Corvette with their slim designs. The Mustang is far from being slim, it is bulky and the proportions of larger rims just make it look even bulkier.
It might not be a bad idea for some of the 20" wheel fans to come out of the closet and get themselves a 1983 four door Impala.

I prefer 18" Wheels Myself. I am More Interested in the Opinions on the Wheel Styles more than Diameter but still the Size is a factor. Since The KR is Shown with 20's I posted the cs69's in the 20" Size. The 18"s have not yet released so I did not put them as an option. The Main Question in the poll is between the Wheels Shown.

My comments are not directed at you. You frequently provide good info helpful to many and the expected feedback is understandable. My opinions are strictly on the wheels themselves.

It is a poll of preferred wheels and each to their own.
Depending on the style of the wheel, larger ones can actually make a heavy looking car appear slim. Even if, the car is not lowered. In lowering the car, 18s will definately be larger in appearance though.
If, for the Shelby, I would do the brushed Al look in a larger size w/ a simple design. There is a white Shelby on the Evolution Perf. Gallery with white wheels and they look nice also.
Yea I do like these in 18"s if they indeed look like that. My current choice is the 20" Shelby Razors as the hood and front fascia are Shelby components. I cancelled my order for now as I wanted the "bright" silver (painted) ones they have on the CS6 prototype however that color is currently not available in the "Shelby" version. I could go with the regular razors but I am trying to stick with a Shelby theme so to speak so who knows, maybe I will hang out and see what comes out in the next year since I like the stock polished 18" on it now.
Hell maybe I'll just make a poll and see what everyone else thinks :P

they are not chrome, but 'durabrite'- a alcoa patented bright hardcoat that wont chip/peel like chrome and wont corrode...in my opinion, the few test sets of durabrited auto wheels Ive seen look GREAT because they are more of a bright silver, without the blingy/bluish/chrome or 'white' of polished look...bright but not blingy...hard to describe better than that- polished/chromed/durabrited look totally different though, and durabrite would be my choice...plus cleaning only requires a quick rinse off, and as the whole wheel is treated, corrosion on backsides should be a thing of the past too.
I am not a big fan of Durabrite. Alcoa uses that process on Truck wheels. There seems to be a lot of orange peel on the wheels. Plus, it really dulls the finish out.
The GT500KR wheels are polished, buffed, high lustered. They look like a million bucks before they are Durabrited.

to each his own...a couple higher ups at work have custom/durabrited wheels on their vehicles and to me the color is spot-on...not as 'blue' or blingy as chrome, not as 'white' as polished, just a nice bright, 'non-mirrorlike' silver...after seeing the KR wheel(but unpolished/not durabrited yet), It just 'dont work for me' and I'd much prefer a set of 18x10 deepdish bullits...on a Mustang anyway.
(only saw 20"- the 18" might look better, but theyre a ways off I guess) I just like the oldschool look of some sidewall showing...30/40 series just seem out of proportion to me...but a lot of folks love that look- different strokes for different folks, nothing wrong with that

heres my 'alltime favorite stance' picture for a S197- it belongs to 'MTAS' in here...18x9, and 18x10 DD Bullitts, his tires are 255/45/18 and 295/45/18...to me it dont get any better than this:
The vintage shelby wheels are specifically requested in chrome, probably from a younger newer mustang buyer, if you look at the wheels from American, there are 3 styles, 6 colors, one chrome. We do not push chrome. But as an FYI, Carroll thought the chrome looked better on the KR, due to it's new vapor color, so that is the wheel offered.
