I seemed to be liking the GT-500 KR first without looking at the pole ! seems a nice whhel for that shade of Mustang !

 

I like me the CS69's with the dark grey around the spokes

 

I like the 69s Also. I am Waiting for the 18"s to Be Released!

Kevin, probably an obvious answer to this but are the wheels on the KR available now or are they going to be?

 

Just to go with the 1968 theme, I too would like the Shelby CS67s, but if they don't fit, then my next choice would be the KR's

 

I absolutely love the KR wheels, I may look at a set myself next year however I do like the CS wheels and voted for those as on that Hertz they look great.

 

I dig the wheels... I'd like to see the ones that were on the GR-1 come available too...

 

It seems Carroll Shelby and his wheel selections have been greatly influenced by West Coast Customs. I could see their point and logic if they would be customizing black Expeditions three inches of the ground instead of Mustangs.

The greatest influence on Mr. Shelby's wheel selection is Mr Shelby.

The CS69 is a modern version of the 1969/1970 Mustang Shelby wheel (hence the name). Just like the CS67 is a modern version of the 1967 Shelby Mustang wheel, and the CS66 is a modern version of the 10 spoke 1966 Shelby GT 350 wheel.

When did Carroll Shelby's emphasis and fascination with chrome come about?

 

Yes I am sure about that. Chrome wheels are nothing new. Cragars (1st picture) were very popular in the 1960s).

And his wheels are available in 2 other finishes as well.

 

Cragars were one of the several options of available wheels in '66, n/a on the '67, n/a on the '68, n/a on the '69/'70 models.

The question remains the same. It's is not about chrome not being available, it's about chrome (c, h, r, o, m, e) being the main emphasis, as in priority, as in obsession, as in pimp-my-ride.

The CS69s are OK but I would go with the CS67s myself. The GT500KR is such a throw back to the 68KR I think the CS67s complete that. This hood blows away the stock GT500 hood. I guess Shelby got tired of looking at it.

 

At this Point it Looks Like a Pretty Much 50/50 Split. I think a wheel Option offering Existing Both Styles would be Nice. To Me it seems Like a New or Old School Preference. The Mustang has a Broad Market appeal why not more than One Wheel Option. Considering how Much this Stang is Going to Go For it seems like a resonable request!

The Wheels on the Concept GT500 KR are nice. But for such a retrospective car and the body lines, all chrome is a lot of bling, IMO.

When I remember old school fastback, I recall the Black or Grey Wheels with a Satin Finish accent.
