windsheild washer jets?

Has anyone taken in there mustang and found a fix for the leaking washer jets when its hot out. If the car is hot and warm outside the windshield washer fluid bubbles out of the jets, causing your car to look like crap if it is newly cleaned etc! Was just wondering if anyone has come up with a good fix, like a check ball type valve etc. Thanks for any info or if the dealer did anything for you?

My car does the same thing. Only notice it when it's hot outside and the car is stopped at a light or in traffic. Not enough to really mess things up, just a little bubbles out.

Wow, I've never seen that on any car, and mine's dark with local temps pushing the high 90s several times this year. I do notice they will hold a drop or two including wash water that will come out when driving after washing and drying though.

I have that happening only on the passenger side washer jet. I usually notice it after the car has been parked for a while and it is hot outside. It just leaves some water spots. I'll mention it to the dealer when I bring it in for the 1st time.

This has never happened to me, and I live in one of the hottest places on earth. Today the high was 132F !!! Then again, maybe it just vaporises without bubbling. I'm still using the washer fluid from the factory, maybe it has a higher boiling point than aftermarket fluid or plain water. Did you guys replace your fluid yet?

I've had the car for just over 2 years. Last week was the first time I added any fluid. The dealer could be adding some when she goes in for oil changes, but I don't pay for the extra "top off" service.

Have you tried lowering the fluid level yet? I know on my Vette, the fluid would heat up and then bubble out. I lowered the fluid level and it solved the problem.

Guess I'll start checking the level after it happens and adjust accordingly. Thanks for the idea. (why didn't I think of that?)

I have not had this happen to me even though I live in a hot place (Phoenix), but if this is a problem, what you might do is take out some of the washer fluid and replace it with Distilled Water you can buy at the store. I believe that the washer fluid may have some solvent in it that the heat is affecting. Distilled water will not be affected by this and still is Ok to use in your washers. It will not leave any residue.

I've only had the car for 2 weeks so it's the original fluid.

This does not apply to our Mustangs as the tank is about a low as you can go in the car

This happens to my Mustang also. There's no rhyme or reason. The tank can be Low or Full, Can be driving @ 80 mph on the highway or 30 mph on a surface street. If you use the washer it might trickle out a little when you let off, or after a couple of minutes I might notice it run out of the driver side jets. It might happen a couple times a month. Just long enough to forget that it happens.

It's been a long time, but I remember a topic on either the corvette or gto forum about someone who had this problem. They installed some type of a one way check valve to prevent the solution from bubbling out of the nozzle. I wish I could remember more.

I just had that happen last night. It was only about 80 degrees and I haven't used my washers for quite a while. Puked out about a tablespoon on each side. Fortunately the car was not as spotless as it usually is.
