Ok, these stripes are a little different. Vinyl made and installed by a local shop. I wanted to do something different and have always liked the look of the 70 Mach 1 hood stripe. I also did not want to stripe the entire car as I don't like trunk stripes with the tail light panel black out (which I do like).

I started with the idea that Foxbat used on his car but I didn't want to run them up to the windshield and stop. So the curve around the top of the Mach 1 seemed right for me. The dimentions are a bit wider than the original Mach 1 stripe as I felt the wider hood called for a wider stripe. Placement of the washer jets also drove the placement, so wider stripe.

Is there a shaker in my future? Maybe, but probably won't have the cash. I realize that many of you will not like these but I thought they were different and also connected with the colorful past of the Mustang. So let's here what you all think.

The decal is fine. Good to be tasteful and different.

Why does the car look so Orange in the pixs? Not that there would be anything wrong with it. In fact its realy fine. Although it should be Torch Red right?

Nice job. That's about the best I've seen so far. I'm going to do the same in paint.

Yep torch red, combination of lighting and the camera made the last pic look like one of my all time favorites, Calypso Corral. That color was used on the 70 Mach 1 so I guess it works here! Some times Torch Red does look orange and sometimes it looks a bit pink .

Your car right now= Your car + shaker hood scoop= Your car + shaker hood scoop AND Magnum 500 (Mach 1 Heritage wheels) = :worship: :headbang:

Any plans to do any of that other stuff? Or just sticking with the hood stripe?

Looks good now I need to think of something different. I was going to stripe my hood like that after I install my shaker system. Back to the drawing board.

You know, he's in PA and you are in Canada, I think you are safe doing that since the liklihood of you two running into each other is really low.

Ya, you are right. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Wife is pretty upset that I keep ordering parts since we just finished buying a new house which we move into next week. Now I have to convince her that a shaker system has a higher priority than landscaping the yard.

Thanks John, that is what I had in mind. A 70 Mach 1 look short of slapping Mach 1 emblems on it. A nice honeycomb panel for the back would fininsh it off! Cash will probably hold me back as I still have the 66 GT Fastback money pit in the garage crying for attention.

Adrenalin, I'm sure I am not the first to think about using this stripe, the release of the shaker will likely spawn plenty just like it. Special thanks to 70MACH1OWNER for providing the measurements for the original 70 stripes. Because I went wider with the center stripe, I increased the gap from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch. The outside stripe remains the original 2 inches. The space between the top of the stripe and the glass is about 4 inches because that is what looked right to me. How this would all work with the shaker on the stock hood is unknown, might have to go narrower to duplicate the look of the 70.

Nice. I like different and good looking. Adding the shaker would be perfect.
