Stereo crapped out car

Im posting this for my buddy and would like any and all help that anyone might be able to provide.

My buddy has an 06 GT with light mods, and a Paxton 2000, the car has been running 100% not one problem. Thats to give a background of the car.

Now for the problem, he took it into Ford for the TSB on the stereo, now remember he took it to them with the car being completely fine. They replaced the Shaker and when they started up the car it started acting up and threw a BUNCH of codes. And now they are saying it is because of the SC and wont fix it, but the car worked before they got it.

I thought I read something like this happening before but cant remember which board. Anyone have any ideas? What could they possibly have messed with that would mess up the car while supposedly only working on the stereo?

thanks

They could have done a software update on the ECU since it was in for another TSB. (I know it sounds stupid, but hey these dealers are pretty dumb sometimes) What codes is it throwing? Has he tried simply reloading his tune on the car?

I can get a list of the codes, but it was 15 or so codes. The car just runs like crap and is one big problem now, not even driveable. And yes, he already has the shop that originally tuned it trying to trouble shoot it but nothing is working, they cant figure out what Ford did, nor whats causing the problem and Ford isnt helping since "it was the SCs fault"

How can they prove this caused the error(s) when the car was driven into the service area?

I'm thinking the shop needs to visit this thread:

The answer MAY be in there

If they did any software updates and loaded the stock tune back in the car it WILL throw all sorts of codes and run like crap with a super charger. Most likely all that needs to be done is reload whatever tune you were using with the Supercharger. The dealer should have known better but if they were only working on the stereo system they should have no reason to look under the hood so they may not have noticed.

the custom tune had been reloaded and there was still a problem, when we were finally able to take a good look at the car we found that the numb nutz forgot to reconnect a vacuum hose and that was causing all the problems. Sheesh one more reason to never let anyone at a dealership work on your car.

YEah an open vacum hose will lean out the A/F ratio really bad and cause all sorts of problems. At least it was an easy fix.

Is the dealership compensating him for the time and effort spent trying to diagnose their ****up? I would imagine a free oil & filter change would be in order.

Playing with/ looking at the supercharger? Or it might have disconnected itself (highly unlikely but it did happen on my 96 monte carlo once)

I would be ticked off to no end. But I take all my stereo "problems" to a trusted shop in my area. But since his is under warranty, yeah, take it to Ford, and if you have any record of the other dealerships finding it fine, show it to them. That will let them know that they ****** up. If they dont do nothing then, threaten to go over their head, its worked for my family.

OK, buddy. What kind of oil did you use? "Oh, don't worry. I used the best stuff I could find, it's called PRESTONE."

I think the dealership shoud give him some coupons for free oil/filter changes and he can give them out to enemies.
