Should I buy 2005 Mustang coupe with 71,000 miles?
Greetings...
I am looking at a clean 2005 V6 coupe with 71,000 miles.
It is priced at $11,000 on a dealer's lot.
My concern is the mileage.
Any idea what "high mileage" is on these cars?
Any help appreciated!

I agree, the mileage is too high for $11k. You can get a much lower mileage V6 from a private seller at that price. Do a search on Autotrader. The way the economy is now, I'd make an offer on a car and walk away if they don't take it. Move on to the next car until someone bites. Be patient and you'll get a great deal.
I wouldn't buy an 05 V6 without the pony package. It comes with upgraded suspension and fog lights in the grille. Good luck!

For what it is worth, $11,000 is way over the top for that mileage. A friend, who is in the business once told me to subtract $2000 to $3000 off the asking price, for a used car, at a dealership. Then you are more in line with what the car is worth.
Make them an offer of $8500. and ask for an extended warranty on the powertrain. Asking for anything never hurts, all they can do is say.."no". The $8500 offer lets you negotiate to $9000, if you are comfortable with that amount. But only in $100. increments. Make them earn the money.,
And, remember, you are in the position of power, you have the checkbook. Don't let them browbeat you. Just walk away. If they really want to sell it, they will stop you or call you the next day. If you have your own financing, walk in with a check in the amount you want to offer. That let's them know you are serious, and it is a take it or leave it deal.
I took a week to make the deal on my 07 Mustang GT/CS. Drove the dealership nuts, but I got everything I wanted.
It is a buyer's market!! Good luck.
