Seafoam

Seafoam
Whomever suggested I use this stuff, THANKS!
I put a can of this stuff in the car, and filled up with Chevron's Techron 93. The slight pinging I had at high revs before is gone, running Bama's 91TQ tune with no timing backed out (and it feels strong).
Question: I have a dyno-tune appointment for later this week, and I still have a ½ tank of fuel that contains approximately ½ can of Seafoam...does the Seafoam raise the octane rating of the fuel? Should I ensure I burn through that fuel (about 100 miles of driving) and refill with fresh Techron 93 prior to the dyno-tune? Or is the Seafoam just a cleaning agent that doesn't affect the octane rating either way?

I don't know if it affects the octane rating or not, but I would make sure to have a fresh tank of gas with no seafoam in it. Anything extra in the gas can change the way it burns, and therefore change the way it behaves on the dyno.

Point taken, I'll burn through the remaining ½ tank tomorrow, refill and drive a little more, then try and burn through that one on Thursday, refill again and on the way to the dynoshop refill again.

Hey Guys,
I have never used Seafoam but I have never read one bad thing about it either. Everyone says it's the nuts. I have a couple of high mileage vehicles but I have a stupid question. Where do you buy it? I have never seen it in any automotive store that I can recall.
Thanks Scott

Discount/Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc. I guess if you have a CSK, Murray's or O'Reilly's near by they'd have it as well. It should be less than $7 for the can. http://www.seafoamsales.com/buy.htm
Thanks Dave. I will look for it at the Autozone near me. Thanks again.
