Red leather not holding up?
I'm wondering if the color fade has to do with humidity and not UV like previously mentioned. I'm in the Mojave desert and my top is down more times than not and thankfully (knock, knock) I haven't had any fading problems with the red leather/vinyl. But, I do clean/condition leather every two weeks. The only problem I've had with my seats was leaving a bicycle chain impression in the back seat that won't go away after carrying my bike down to the beach (yeah I know that's what SUVs are for).
Word from the Dealer!
I could not believe it, I was so perplexed that a grown man who should be somewhat intelligent about automobiles and thier care. Tells me with a straight face " The Meguiars Wipes your using causes the seat to bleed anf the dye to run, so the seats aren't covered by warranty"
My mind trying to rationalize this twilight zone statement finally came up with "thats the best you can come up with?"
Should I go straight to district office? or try another dealer? Because Meguairs tells me there is no way the Gold class wipes cause the seat to fail.
In fact the oil change i had them give me was not motorcraft 5w-20 but castrol so they don't even use thier own brand of motor oil.
I really love the Mustang, I preach to friends how good the car is, got my sister to try and then purchase a Mercury Milan.
But after having a couple Chryslers (seats never bled), Toyotas(never bled, Dealer fixed seat my dog rip holes in seat!), Chevy truck, (didn't blead and I bought when it was 6 yrs old!)
So it appears that if this is what Ford uses as an excuse for service this Mustang may find another owner and i may have to go purchase something else. I really did want to get the new redesign coming out

well came back from the dealer and they said they are going to replace the lower seat cover which from what they say costs $200+ just for the lower seat cover. And they used a wiered system where they took pics, put it on a dock, sent them to ford, and for responded like 2min later with a responce to the warrenty work, so they told the service guy to only order the seat cover and replace it
