Power driver's seat won't go forward (but will go back).

Hi all,
I'm working on a 2005 Ford Mustang GT.
I'm having an issue where the power driver's seat suddenly will not go forward.

I've looked this issue up online and in almost all cases, the motor went out and it wouldn't go forward or backward. I've yet to come across a thread where it will go one direction but not the other.
I can move the seat back just fine. The motor spins, the seat moves, etc. But when I move forward, nothing.
It just happened out of nowhere, since my wife drove the Mustang yesterday and it worked just fine. (She's a bit shorter than me, so had to move it forward).
I got in, moved the seat back, and realized I had gone back too far. Tried to put it forward, and nothing. Moved it back, and it went back further. Forward, and nothing.

I have the seat unbolted from the floor and everything looks good underneath. Nothing looks broken, I can see all the motors work and spin (except when moving forward). Nothing's jammed. Etc.
Just no forward movement. Also, the motor does not spin when moving forward.

Any thoughts?
Can these motors fail in one direction?
Is it the switch on the seat itself?
Tests I can do?

We need the car and can't drive it at the moment, so I need to get it fixed ASAP. Thanks in advance for the help.

Excellent! Thank you. I somehow didn't find that thread.

That happened on my 2011 and I ended having to replace the seat track. It was quite a job and not very fun.

Can you elaborate? What was the actual issue?
Was the motor gear skipping on the track or something?

It was something in the motor. I verified it was getting power but it would only move in one direction. I want to say it only moved backwards and not forwards but that was 11 years ago.

So I found the old thread on here where I posted about my power seat woes:

Power seat died - Page 2 - The Mustang Source - Ford Mustang Forums

I had forgotten many of the details of what happened. It had started with not wanting to go forward and eventually ended up not going any direction (forward / back / up / down). I detailed all of the trouble shooting steps I went through. I hope it's helpful to you.

Thanks everyone for all of the help. I was able to get it working again.
Looks like it was simply the switch itself.

The other posts I read, and videos I watched, said to fully remove the side panel. However, that seemed unnecessary.

I was able to just pop off the handle using a trim tool.

Then I only pulled out the front most clip. I could then reach behind it enough to undo the four tabs that were holding the switch in place. I found it easiest to undo the top two tabs, and then push on the switch to keep them from reclipping, while I undid the bottom two.

After that, the switch was very easy to remove.

I undid the clips on the side of the switch to open it up, and then used a pick to undo the switches themselves. They just clip on, so a little prying outward on the sides popped them off.
Sprayed it all throughout with the electronics cleaner, let it dry, and then reassembled and it all worked again!
