Power Seat Issue After Dealer Visit!

So take my 2011 Mustang to the dealer. There for state inspection & oil change. NEVER had an issue with my drivers power seat. Employee of the dealer not sure which one moved my seat out of position. Now the motor sounds like someone fried the hell out of it!

Yeah actually thinking the employee held the power seat button until the motor started making the help me noise!!! Really don't know how the hell it goes in just fine & comes out with the power seat making noise!

Anyone else have any issues with the power seat motor groaning & not moving correctly? I'm 6' 200lbs so not working the seat hard for my ***!

I'm pretty pissed about the issue However pretty sure this will be covered under my 7/70 warranty I'm paying for! What do you guys think?

Forgot to mention the car only has 20,000 miles on it.

They are a couple of Threads on the 'drivers side power seat motor failing'. A lot of us with 2011's (GT and V6) had our drivers side power seat to mess up. I was one of the several people who had this happen . Mine happened while i was under warranty with around 15,000 miles a couple years ago .

Yep, mine too. David had some pretty good instructions for fixing it, but I chickened out after I bought the $420 part and ended up paying the dealer another $250 or so to do the install for me.

Moral of the story: only use techs your height.

I hate having people move my seat because it takes me forever to get it back just right.

Thanks for the replies guys!!! Makes me feel better knowing others had this issue & early on also. This should be covered under my 7/70 warranty.

Motor sounds like crap really loud & slow. @K.A.I.N Really it takes a few tries sometimes to get the seat back where it feels right!

So strange it decides to have the problem when the dealer employee moved the seat.

Guess that gets the employee & dealer off the hook! My bad I guess!

Had the exact same issue with my 2011 GT. Took the car to the Ford dealer for window repair. Car returned with busted power driver's seat motor - the up/down function. Repaired under warranty. Could the be just coincidence that this is happening to Mustangs WHILE AT THE DEALER?

Posts like these make me glad I have manual seats. To be honest, I don't think I have ever had a power seat motor go out on me in other vehicles. I still own a 1998 Chevy ext-cab Z71 that I bought new and the power seats still work fine in it. I guess it all comes down to design and the quality of parts used.
