I've got an 05 I bought in Nov 04, but only has 16k miles. I had to replace the original battery last month after it just completely died without any warning. So far that is the only factory thing that failed after the warranty expired.

But I am getting the 'clunk' from my strut mount which is a TSB, so that is going to be replaced hopefully this weekend.

Alternator #5, 6, 7...Hell, I don't even know anymore. Every 2-3 years, I have to change the alternator. Luckily it was still under 3 year warranty from the last time I changed it, so it was free.

My 2005 GT Just hit 60,000 miles today (7/8/2012) so I'm getting ready to do the 60K service. Still riding on the original Pirelli tires and brakes. Tires are just about on their last mile so I'll be replacing them soon, same goes for the brakes.

Replaced the battery twice so far. First one, paid out-of-pock to replace since it was just past the free replacement period. Second one replaced free right when the replacement period ended. Will see how long this third one lasts.

No other majo issues to report other than I stopped played CD's on the Skipper (Shaker) 500 about 4 years ago. Just listen to the radio.

Minor issues that require attention:
Vinyl lining on the driver and passenger doors are peeling off.
Defroster grid peeled so only part of the rear window will defrost during cold mornings.

Only major thing I need to deal with is the A/C blowing out semi cold air.
Heard about a TSB on replacing the clutch compressor, but hopefully it's not that and just a simple leak. Going to try using a DYI recharging kit and if see if it works. If not, will have to bring it to my trusted mechanic and have him check the entire system.

72k on my '06 GT. Tranmission mount is worn out (not paying $140 for a new one so I'm going to reinforce the old one with Seka Flex (think 'Liquid Nails' but better). My clutch is getting REALLY heavy, experiences some shudder, and gets really stiff after cruising on the highway for an hour.

Otherwise car is OK, but I've replaced the entire suspension with quality aftermarket pieces, so that eliminates half the potential problems.

That brings my grand total to brakes (all around), battery (replaced with an Optima red top), tires (twice), sparkplugs (done proactive at 47k), and the problems just mentioned. Although my windshield is really sand blasted.

Failed or maintenance:
Smart Junction Box (Cowl leak killed it)
Battery
Clutch
Trak-lok diff (spider gears failed at the track)
Clutch/CSC
Spark Plugs (broke one on removal)
Parking brake cable
Too many tires to count
Fuel filter (preventative - was clean at 70k!)

Quality improvement mods:
Headlights were fogged over from age/wear - replaced with aftermarket
Rear lower control arms - stock ones were awful, replaced with BMR LCAs

Outstanding issues:
Leak from rear of transmission
Line that runs by the driver side exhaust manifold flange has been beat up/pinched (Clutch line?)
Clearance issue with transmission
Fuel tank fill issue (I have to hold the nozzle upside down like a goofball)
Shaker 1000 can't read CDs
Driver side speakers pop using the PIE adapter

Believe me, your not the only one. If I fill up @ shell on 93 octane around or b4 a 1/4 tank I don't have this issue

I never got it taken care of within the warranty period. The dealer I bought the car from (1 year used) went out of business shortly after I bought the car and I didn't track down a new one.

Ah, I see. Well after taking it in for the TSB, I rarely have any problems. Just every now and then. But I usually stick to the same gas stations/pumps anyway, so it's not really an issue.

Going to have to replace the instrument panel - replaced the stepper motors but now none of the gauges work.
There is a clicking noise in the dash when switching from defrost to vent.
Replaced 1 coil-on-plug that went bad.
Driver door panel trim peeled off but I fixed that myself.

i forgot about those seat lever *****, they were both broke when i got the car. that was a total failure part from fords. i never have replaced them cause fords only sells the entire assembly for some rediculas price (another failure by fords). there are aftermarkets but i dont use them anyway.

and i forgot about the e brake cables boots that cracked and froze in the winter on both the 05 and the 06

Finally did my brakes (upgraded of course) and the rear defrost tabs on the rear windshield have broken off in the past and have since been repaired.
