I also had both the exhaust rattle and the recall done today, the exhaust is MUCH better, not a peep.
I also am having them investigate the 2-3rd gear grind

took about 2 hours and they both items fixed and I was well on my way! No noticable changes with the recall work.

I'm on the list. Question: are the exhaust rattle folks due to having manual transmissions? I've got an auto and I haven't experienced the rattle (knock on wood). How long will this recall work take? If it is just software related, it can't take much time, can it?

Printed out the info from the link provided by jrys (Thank you!!) and stopped by the dealer this morning. They looked at the printout, plugged in my VIN, brought up the recall, and took care of it immediately. Now that is customer service.

Good. It sounds like a quick fix. Maybe when I get the oil changed here soon.

Quick answer:
a short and light female.

Long answer:
I'm not sure for automotive use but I've seem this term used in my work before. In this case they were looking at the 95th percentile male for checking human system interaction with systems and spaces (does the guy fit into a given space and can he operate in that space). In this case this referes to a tall/heavy guy such that only 5% of the male population would be taller/heavier. I'll assume the 5th percentile female is a short/ligher woman such that only 5% of the female population is ligher/shorter. My guess for cars is is they test the airbag system with both to bound the solution.

Had mine done this morning. I was the first one there at that dealership, but they didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Should we wait to be notified by Ford or just do it?

The dealership just called me here at work and wanted me to make an appointment first thing Saturday. They'll make a little $$$ off of me - I think I will have the oil changed. Is 2,780 miles to early to rotate the tires?

I was thinking about the TSB about the exhaust rattle, but it hasn't done anything. Should I bother having the dealer do the TSB or just leave it alone until (or if) the rattle ever surfaces?

Not goin' to do it. If she starts complaining about my Mods and ebay stuff.......well I'll just take her for a "short" ride.

Usually dealers won't "fix" something as a preventative measure. If your car is not affected by the TSB, I doubt your dealer will touch it.

Must be nice to have a service department open on Saturday. Ah the things you put up with living in a small town.

So they did the work and didn't mess with the tune?

Mine is not on the list - For once!!! Thank God!! Over 79,000 miles and counting!

My good friend's stang is on the list though. What do they have to do to fix this? Does it require removal of the dash?
