Need another battery?

I've had this car for only a year and a half and recently I've had to jump start it 3 times. The longest the car has sat for any given period is 3 days without being driven. Radio was turned off and the alarm was not on. I had the Ford alarm system installed by the dealer but still have the standard battery BXT96R. I don't think that batteries are warrantied so I guess I'll get a different one. Should I bother to get the Motorcraft upgrade battery BXT40R or just go aftermarket?
thanks,
Mark

dont go with a upgrade. like glenn said, if your covered under warranty then do that. why pay for a upgrade now, do that when your car is not in warranty.

Get it checked and replaced by the dealer. My car was acting up and so I decided not to leave the house - turned it off and tried to restart it. Dead Battery. Car was 2 years old maybe and battery replaced for free, even reimbursed for the tow truck. I don't think batteries last long in any car.

I had to replace the battery in my civic every two years and it was either replaced for free or prorated each time at the dealer. I had the dealer replace my mom's Accord battery a year ago and took it in for an oil change around christmas and they replaced the battery for free saying it didn't pass their charge test.

it all depends, my '04 Sierra still has the original AC Delco Battery, and my truck has roughly 65K miles on it....so who knows?

my 2k gt's battery lasted 7 years before replacing it. It still had some life in it. My civic battery is at least 5 years old seems to be slacking but still working for now

Your battery is under warranty. The original one on my 05 had a bad cell after about 30 months - it was replaced. I can't speak for other than my 05 and a few other club members/friends but their 05's have had new batteries, some under warranty, some not. It appears if the car sits for 3 weeks or so, it likely won't start. I use a Battery Tender and since then -no issues.

Would you happen to have a list of potential solar powered tenders in mind ? Their websites would also be very helpful as well.

My Ford Battery History

My baby was born 9/8/04
Delivered 1/6/05

Original BXT 40-R, 72 month warranty, battery failed to hold a charge and was replaced on 10/18/06 (25 months) with another new, BXT 40-R, 72 month battery, free, under warranty.

Third battery failed to hold a charge and was replaced on 1/8/09 (27 months) with yet another new, BXT 40-R, free, under the battery's 36 month free replacement warranty.

If his pattern keeps going, I may never have to pay for a battery.
