My trans is getting LOUDER and LOUDER

I took it in before and they told me it was "normal" I know enough about cars to know it's not normal. Not to mention there's a TSB on the thing and they still wouldn't do it. Now it's gettin louder and louder and I'm getting ready to bring it in for another try.

How can I get these guys to admit it's got an issue. No trans should make that kind of noise.

Auto? Stick? Take a copy of the TSB in with you, maybe that will help. Good luck to you.
Just a thought-test drive your car with your service writer, and then take one off of the lot for a spin-let him/her hear the difference.

If they continue to say it's normal, tell them you want a Ford rep. to drive it. Ford knows there are a lot of noisy trannys out there and are reviewing them on a case by case basis. If it's a manual, it is somewhat noisy anyway. If it's abnormally loud, like mine was, a whine that increased with every thousand miles, it needs addressed. Ford will replace the transmission if there are metal shavings in the fluid or cost of repair exceeds $1700. It took me several months, but they finally replaced my transmission. I've been noise free for about a thousand miles now.

The first lot of 05's that came in here I recall a couple of them doing that and I think the syncros or something went.
