I found my dash rattle but.....
Not sure how to fix it. It is coming from the two horizontal satin trim panels that make up the passenger airbag cover. Can the IUP panels be removed to add some sort of foam ro something and put back on to stop the squeaks? I HAVE to fix this or I will go insane!
Does any one know how to remove them carefully, so I can fix the problem?

Warning follows: Do not under any circumstance try to modify or insulate the airbag doors-The satin panels are bonded to a backing material.
On another note I have not seen the doors cause a noise but have seen noise coming from under or behind the bag assy itself.
Just my .02 worth.

Greg, I've got an rattle once in a while as well, but it goes away alot of the time. It' s inevitable to have some rattles, especially in a stiff suspension car as this........ It's probably the nature of the beast, just wait 'till they're 10 years old.

Man that is really a bummer. It is definetly coming from the air bag doors themselves, because when I push on them it makes the same noise. Furthermore, when driving and I get the squeak from it, if I reach over and press and hold - noise gone.
Oh, and on top of this I now notice that my drivers side A-pillar is now rattling under certain conditions. For such a solid chassis, they really didn't put alot of thought to mounting the interior panels.

The a-pillar rattle is one of the easiest rattles to fix, just yank the pillars off , pad them, and push them back on. As for the air bag rattle, i have it also, and have not found any way to fix it.

I had the A-pillar rattle fixed at the dealer but alas the rattle is also in the same area you are talking about and I don't think its an easy fix....so I'm gonna listen to the music louder.....and it is alot worse when it is cold. Bummer...................

Rattle?
I discovered that the rattle I was having all the time was actually coming form the shift boot! That plastic fake leather thing makes a hell of a lot of noise. I rumpled it up with my hands and now it doesn't make any more noise. I had thought it was coming from the dash and it was driving me crazy. For now, no more noises.

The best way to get rid of your air bag rattle is to ship your passenger airbag assembly to Carrol Shelby along with a check for $150. You won't have your rattle for a couple of weeks. When it gets sent back you will be so stoked to have Shelby's autograph that the rattle will be the last thing on your mind.
