Yes, just did this last week ( Factory warranty ended on Sept 21). I opted for the Ford ESP Premium for 7Yrs/60K mi. Cost was $1290. This is with a $100 deductable

Note that the 7Yrs start with the car's in-service date, so I now have an additional 4 years to go.

As I only have 20k mi. after three years, the 60k mi. seemed satisfactory.

Or you could put the money in a savings account in case you ever had a problem with the car...I am not a fan of extended warranties but many people like them

I bought the 7 yr/70K plan, when the car was new. (only extended plan available at the time in Germany).

At 50,000 miles the generator went out. Because of the Euro/USD rates in Germany, and I took it to a german Ford dealer, it paid for itself with that one item needing replaced.

You're paying for "Peace of Mind" too.

The neat thing about German Ford dealers over here, they don't care about mods, they just enjoy the opportunity to work on a Mustang.

This TMS member may be able to help you : 05fordGT, PM him.

Also, this is a ford dealer who sells ford warranties online at a fairly good price: http://www.fordwarrantys.com/

Check out warranty direct.
http://warrantydirect.com

I've used them for other vehicles and they usually beat the mfr pricing.

I can tell you to use the ford ESP if your getting one. Stay away from "partners" extended waranty (Partners Administrative Services Mechanical Repair Service Contract)

The fine print says they don't pay for fluids (i.e. the rebuilt a trans, you still pay for new fluid)..

It also says they can use non oem and used parts... (we got an 18k mile trans installed when we needed a new manual trans at 92k miles)

Also, they won't pay for a rental until labor hits 8 hours.. (hard to do on the 1st day the car is in the shop)...

Ford ESP requires you have 1000 miles and a month left on your factory bumper to bumper. Some other options offer more parts covered and dont require that you take it to a Ford store for work. Any questions PM me.

I bought the extended waranty when I bought my car, plan on keeping it for a long time.

That's not true!! You can extend the warranty up to the day before it expires, and/or if you only a tick from 36K miles left! TRUST ME, I've done it with NO issues from Ford!!!
