This is most likely already been discussed but anyways, my tach and gas gauge went wonky on my 05 GT, about 60K on her. I knew the gauge cluster issue was fairly common. I looked online and found some vids on youtube. The stepper motors for each gauge go bad. You can but the stepper motors on Ebay for a few dollars each. Mine has the 4 gauge cluster. I bought a cheezy kit on ebay for $22 and it includes 4 stepper motors, solder sucker, soldering iron, and 1 foot of solder.
I have never done any circuit board soldering. You have to unsolder the four pins on the stepper motor, it looked easy. I couldn't get the cheezy solder sucker to work, it sucked or rather it didn't...probably just my technique. I used my own technique then, I gently grasped each motor while applying heat to each pin and the motors came out quite easy. I then held the board up to the light to check out the holes in the board and some were plugged with solder. I just flipped the board upside down and briefly touched the soldering iron tip to those holes to open them up.
Ideally you should probably replace all the motors, I only replaced the 2 just in case my job went sideways I figured I would still have to working gauges.
There is an electric vacuum pump desoldering gun you can get that looks like it would make the job quite easy. I will post a couple if vids I found. One guy used a pair of tweezers to take off the needles from gauges. My tweezers were to wide to fit under the needles. I used a mini pair of curved scissors to carefully pry off the needles and another thing I did that the vids didn't show is I put some masking tape all around the needles at the gauges so as not to scratch the cluster face when I pried. Another thing when you tackle the trim pieces on the dash you can use a butter knife, I put tape on it to so I wouldn't scratch.
The end result is I didn't screw up the gauge cluster and I fixed the 2 gauges for very little which I am sure would have been hundreds at the dealer
I replaced the stepper motors in my fuel and temp gauges twice! The replacements went bad too.
I finally broke down and bought a remanufactured complete cluster from Rock Auto.

I wasn't aware you could buy complete re-manufactured gauges. I'd really like to get a hold of a Roush Indigo cluster. I find that the lighting on my 2007 cluster is very dim in both daylight and night.
