140 Speedometer Gauge Cluster
Hello Everyone,
I need a bit of assistance from you folks. We just found a 1984 gauge cluster with a 140 speedo and a 6k tach (Ford Part Number E4ZF-10C956-AA). Now the only 1984 gauge clusters with a 140 speedo we've seen in the past were from SSP models which are marked with the 'certified calibration' stamp. This one does not have that marking. As such I presume this is a standard 85 mph gauge cluster that someone has modified with a speedo from a later model (1987+).
Would you agree or were there other variants I'm not aware of? If this is the case, is there anything I need to be concerned with in using this cluster? Finally, how do I take this gauge cluster apart to put in a set of white gauge faces, repaint the needles back to bright orange, and reattach the trip odometer reset arm as it's loose? Thanks.

Here is an anomaly, my 87 GT vert, I bought it brand new off the truck in November 1986.. It has LX tail lights, a 160 Speedo, states certified calibration and had the blue hoses until I changed them a long time ago before I knew what the heck they were and an oil cooler...

Told you that'd be myluck mine was built the first few days. I wish it was here but it's getting the body work done. So I can't check the door stickers which are going right back on.
