Yeah.

We've had a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks. I'm driving my '07, and suddenly the computer basically tells me to go to hell and everything shuts down. It tells me my brake fluid is low, oil's low, parking brake is on, fuel's low (it was at roughly "50 MILES TO E" when it shut off, so I know the fuel is low), can't see if I've got my lights/turn signals on, etc.

I've done a few Google searches, and my car is pretty much all stock save for SLP Loudmouth II exhaust and CDC sequential taillights. I really, really don't think it's the sequentials... they've been on there for nearly two years.

I have noticed that there are a few drops of water (two or three) that sometimes fall from the wiring up under my steering wheel/cluster, near where the pedals are.

Oh, and my warranty was up a while ago, hooray.

So, anybody want to take a shot and give me bad news (or please, please give me good news)?

ADDENDUM: Just checked that kick panel on the passenger side, right past the speaker in the footwell. It's drenched. :-( I have a good feeling I know what the issue is.

 

Yeah, there's your problem. It's pretty common, do a search for water leaks in footwell and you'll find lots to read about.

The leak in the passenger side can get the SMB wet and it will do strange things , several threads about this , unless they were lost in the crash ...

 

That's what I'm thinking happened. It's dried out today, and everything's working fine -- this is the first time this has happened, so I'm going to guess it's finally starting to short out. Does anybody have an idea of where the leak is at? I've got some odd weather-stripping between the black plastic and the metal above the window, where it looks loose/spongy.

This has me dreading moving from Vegas after I graduate.

 

There's a TSB out on this so if your still under warranty I'd take it in. I didn't find out I had the leak till after my warranty was expired , so I wound up paying for it. It can be several places , they first replaced the rubber seals around the door , it helped some but I still had a leak. There are also rubber grommets that the plastic cover where the cabin air filter is that can leak , especially if you've removed cover to change the filter and didn't get it put back on right. Also there's a rubber grommet at the bottom of the same area that the plastic covers and this can get clogged up and cause water to back up in there and eventually leak into the cabin. They also put sealant around the seams between the panels and it finally seems to be fixed ...
